This is a proof of concept. I used paper backed foil covered in tissue soaked in white glue/water. I also sprayed the camo net with a mist of clear to ease it sliding off the backing paper. Then I turned the half circles by hand. Finished off by a coat of sand paint.
For the final product I'm going to find a better backing that is smoother.
cheers

Richard,
I just picked up the HobbyBoss kit and am planning to do the same as you with the baraccuda camo (there are some nice AM kits of it but they just don't look right to me.)I will be following your progress and am looking forward to see how it comes out.
Cheers Rob.

Rick
Have you added the sprocket bolts that are missing with this kit ?
Looking good so far.

I had thought of this method to make the MCS Barracuda, but I didn't test it. It looks very well !:)
Is it difficult to turn the half circles of the decals without tearing them ?
Do you separate the decals of their paper before glue them?

Thanks Rob!
Anthony, I used the resin sprockets that came with the RM update set. I also ground off the cooling screens and rep;aced them with the ones in the set
For the Barracuda what i'm doing is giving it a coat of clear to give it more strenght, then sliding them unto the painted foil backing. I have to turn the circles one at a time, lots of fun LOL.
I should get back to this project soon as I'm in the middle of renovating the laundry room
cheers

It's laser cut paper.
Yes I like the way it looks as well. So much so that I did a review that should be posted shortly.

I shall wait for the review but I don't have faith in paper.

The paper seems quite sturdy, the piece I showed was painted both sides then crumpled tightly into a ball then stretched out.
Cheers Rob.
