Next up in the breech.

Going to use the short slat and make my own Barracuda from the Echelon camo netting.

Also use the Real Models update set for the Hobby Boss kit.

Let the games begin

Looking forward to seeing this. Is the short slat like the Eduard Leopard 2A6M CAN set with panels of slats that get bent or is it like the Eduard Stryker PE where you build the frames and add each individual slat?

The slat is from Eduard. It's just like their original slat set, just shorter. It's nice because you just bend the panels and then add the verticals.

I'm going to try to finish it similar to this one, missing a bunch of slat and torn/missing Barracuda panels.

No mine roller though.

Nice! I may have to order one of those slat sets- I was hoping it was like the other Eduard Leopard set. Easier than their Stryker stuff!

Rick,
It's not the original set, but is converted into the correct shape. Both rear side of the new replacing the error in the original set.

Don't forget the poly caps, especially in the replacement resin drive sprockets...de-bonder is a wonderful product

Ric, what is this great "de-bonder" you speak of? I am in need of something that fits that description. . .

Where it might not be very useful with regards to someones social life, for un-sticking parts that are glued together with CA glue it's just the very best

Got some more work done today. Replaced the grab handles with wire, assembled most of the front hull do-dads and the rear hull replacement piece from the RM update set. The one in the HB kit has the wrong tool box shape.

Thanks Anthony and Milo!

The hull panel fitment on the HB kit is nasty, gaps everywhere. Good thing for Mr Surfacer LOL.

Today's update, have finished with most of the photo-etch on the engine deck. After paint the tools will be installed and the clasps tidied up.

Next step is to install and paint the running gear, then the skirts followed by the Barracuda sections, then the slat.

Thanks, the 'cuda cam has to be installed before the slat armour brackets are attached. So after the running gear gets painted and installed the skirts can go on and final paint can be done. Then its cuda cam and then the slat armour with brackets.

I really want to do a Iraq or A-stan version of the Leo 2A6, but the slat and 'cuda add ons are a bit outta my price range right now. Maybe Frenchy can find me a Leo 2 A6 without all that stuff that I can build. . . .keep it up Rich.

I'm not sure of any Leo2's in Iraq?

The Hobby Boss kit straight outa the box will build up into an early deployed Leo, from summer 2007 until the 'cuda cam got installed around April 2008.

Got some more bits added on. Next step is the slat armour mounts.

Had to prop up the hull behind the turret ring as the turret was sitting too low on the hull and the rear baskets were snagging on the rear engine deck.

Much better now...

The base coat looks good. Did you leave the rifle and ECM boxes separate so they can be painted tan?
