Rob those PE sets look like the pages of a whole book!! You are a brave and patient man! It will be very interesting to see it getting built. I'll be watching and maybe learn a few things... Good luck.

Thanks for all the encouragement guys!
Jeff, that's not 4 sheets there are actually 13 sheets and the ones for the slats are large.
This is the front runner now, I think it will look good on my M1070/M1000.
Cheers Rob.
Oh gawd! You ARE my hero!
Have fun!

I might stay away from PE for a Stryker...seems a little intense for a kid who's barely touched on it at all

I'm totally taken back by PE assembly. I have soldered a many a projects in the 20 years I have worked on or around automobiles, but that's not the same type of soldering.
Too bad this cannot be made by using styrene strips. I could go for that!
But, I WILL build an MGS one day with that type of PE.

Jeff,
It can be made with styrene, took me a while to find it (why is there no list of the threads we are subscribed to. )
https://armorama.kitmaker.net/forums/185680&ord=&page=5
shows some being made.
Cheers Rob.

Yeah, I've seen Joes work on the Husky ... it was very nice.
I'll have to look more into it for the cost and MO will be much more harder for me who has 0 experience with that type of PE work.
I'll need drawings, maybe pictures and even some measurements too. I read somewhere that the MGS has a different roof than the other Strykers, sooooo.

Yikes. I'm graduating high school to avoid measurements and math for the summer. So I'll stick to my good old out of the box kits. Can't go wrong with those.

I know the feeling Conor, I hated math while in school.
But you'll find (as I did) that learn while you can, when you DO need to use it it'll be for your benefit and it will be almost second nature, not like school that felt like work.
I chose to work in the automotive field and more specifically, I did mostly alignments where fractions, millimeters and degrees had to be factored in.
Taking overall vehicle measurements for modeling is ALL fun, once you start doing it so it won't feel like school work, where you have no choice.
Anyway, congratulations on getting out of jail (I mean graduating High School) hope your career path has been decided already and welcome aboard the best modeling forum on the Internet.

Since I decided to go with a Stryker for the Operation Afghanistan campaign, I'll build the Bulgarian variant of the M1117 for this one.

I've got to change mine. Let me know please!
Thanks!

Jeff, of the 3 I think that the inly one that can fit the Campaign is the Steyr tractor.. hardly.
It isn't an APC, but with a few plywood benches at the back it could carry some troops.
Don't you have anything else in stash ?

Oh, no problem! No problem at all!! That's why I asked!
Well, it'll give me the excuse to buy one of those cool BTR's that I've been wanting then.
Always need an excuse first!

Okay, okay! I dug down deep into the stash and had to get the vacuum cleaner out (they were in deep storage) and found this:
the LVT-(A) 1 AMTANK by Revell
How's this? It's both the APC & AFV ... all in one. (double ribbon, huh)
I forgot I had it!! Now that's pretty sick.

Hey, everyone just enlisted. haven't decided what to do but it'll definitely have a Canadian flare. either LAV III LORIT or Grizzly late model.
Decision made! making the LAV III for the Afghan campaign, so Grizz it is. now to wait for it to be released.

It doesn't have a box ?
But do you have all the sprues / decals, and the kit isn't started ?
@Jeff
That's a cool LVT !!!
I know you need excuses to buy the whole BTR Trumpeter's...
What version is that Rob ?
