I'm proposing another one..
Armoured Personnel Carrier 's / Armoured Fighting Vehicles
Tracked or wheeled, amphibious too.

Any country, any markings.
WWII or modern.
single kit or multiple builds, in a dio or not.
1:72 to 1:24

OOB or full of extras, interiors, PE, Resin, just have fun !

From the new Trumpeter's offers to the AFV Club 251's, feel free to choose.

Summer 2012 - Summer 2013

Any takers ?

I thought this would gather more interest!
I know my collection needs a Desert Storm Bradley. I'd be interested if this one goes, especially into summer of 2013.
I wonder if the strictly WW II guys will be building their APC's in the halftrack campaign already, because there aren't too many kangaroo kits for converted-tank personnel carriers, are there?
There was interest a few months ago in starting an M113 campaign, and this would definitely grab those folks too.
I know the Soviets have a million types of APC.
What other suggestions do you have, John? The Trojan Horse?

Would a SdKfz 232, Rad 8 be stretching APC description. If so I would have to get something else but you can count me in as 1 of the required 10, I'm always up for a new campaign

I have a few Bren/Universal Carriers I could build.

What sort of time frame are you thinking of?

I'd sign on to build one of the many DML WW II U.S. Halftracks in my stash.

@ Sean
Too bad there isn't too much interest, I thought it would be a welcomed subject for both modern & WWII buffs..
Trojan Horse on a 1:16 scale would be nice !!!
Even on a 1:35 diorama next to statues, some hoplites charging..

@Sal a 232 would be ok, no problem !

@Alan
Summer 2012 - Summer 2013..plus 1 month extension maybe, depending on how's everyone's build.

We're 7 so far... let's keep our X-Acto's crossed

I will have to see if I get my model building mojo back. I still have a Trumpeter JGSDF Type 89 ICV to build.

I'd be in with a 113 or wheeled LAV. There was an APC campaign on here a few years ago.

I am thinking a year might be too long for most campaigns. There are a very few who finish early but the vast majority seem to lose steam/focus until the last minute which means the campaign is more than a year with extensions.

The original campaign length was 6 months and longer periods would only be for special cases involving a lot of modeling like scratch-building or dioramas.

What do you guys think?

6 months sounds good to me - not to short nor to long. Should get quite a few joining the fun.

cheers

I agree Gary, 6 months is ok.
Another month for an extension if needed.

@Jeff

T-19 ? This one:

It's a light tank if I'm not wrong..

Or this one:

It's primary role was mobile tank destroyer right ? But I guess with a secondary role it could work... I mean a BMP-3 can punch a few rounds with a 100mm gun but it's still an APC/AFV type.

Ladies and Gents, I present to you the T19:

It's the 105MM version ... sorta, kinda like the one on "Kelly Heroes". It is a AFV.

I just need to build it so I can get measurements off the gun and carriage for a 1/16 build I am doing. That, and whatever else I need to convert the M16 to the T19.

Let me know because by then I should have wrapped up my other campaigns and will need another to start. This kit looks like a lot of fun!!

Well yeah, Trumpeter makes a super detailed one in 1/16, then their parent company WSN came out with them as RC M16's ... less the details and such.

I made a 1/16 RC A3 look like Oddballs Sherman from "Kellys Heroes", then picked up a Danbury JEEP. I have 2 of the WSN M16 Halftracks, one of which I want to look like the vehicle in the movie as well.

Might even pick up a Trumpeter kit just to get some detailing to set it further apart from the RC versions.

So, let me know if this DML kit is okay for this campaign. If not there is a Halftrack campaign all ready to go but I'd rather go with this campaign right here and I need to build the 1/35th kit anyway for the gun work.
