So you rolled thin milliput onto surface then put on an imprint of pliers for the pattern?

I smeared it on, flattened it out with lots of water, and then made the pattern.

If the zim was damaged or blown away, the spots where there is no zim would be the color of the primer paint coat put on at the factory before the zim was applied, at the factory.

But if it chipped off, which it did, and then the crew guy painted over where it chipped it would look like this.

And by the way, what was the point of Uday's post? I don't honestly know where he was going with that one.

Hi Chip ...nice looking tiger you got going on....nice job on the zimmerit although a bit lumpy in places ,you did it yourself and it looks good.... If I were you I would add a few spots where the primer is showing but you can also leave some as if the KT was repainted after the zimmerit was lost...As for the question about Kingtigers painted in the factories ...this was done only later so no Porshe Turreted tanks were painted in the factories and they left in just a coat of Dark Yellow ...For later KTs both the sharpe edged and soft edge camos were done at the factories ...hth

Nice job Chip

Your spray painting is excellent - really nicely done

The zimmerit is a tad lump / uneven in places, I would remedy this by doing a couple of shell impacts to hide it.

Looking great though m8
