No problem Christopher
John I haven't really thought about paint yet, I think I might have to take a trip to Munster and get some pics of their Prototype version and get some much needed info .
Todays update then:-
I've fiddling with very small bits and cursing my sausage fingers and the drops of glue that are larger
than the smallest bits I wanted to fix in place .
Drilled the headlights out and will add these T62 lights left over from a earlier build:-
Towing shackles with homemade retaining pins and etch chains from the spares box. ( I hate PE )
Two plugs and PE chains, the plugs are ejector pins from Dragon, the chains from the spares box. I have know idea
what they are for ?
The searchlight cable socket plug and chain, also from an excellent Dragon ejector pin
Rear shackles with homemade pins and more PE chain. Yes I know they are upside down, this was how they
were mounted on this version. The towing cable held them in place and also the tow cable didn't extend as far
down the hull as on the Leopard 1 A1/A2....

Hey Paul! Love how your Leopard is coming together! I agree with you as to photo etch! I hate it too. I use very fine railroad chain for the clasps an smoke grenade tube covers. Here is my Leopard 1A4. Base paint, gloss coat and decals done. Now it's wash and weathering time!
Again all Comments Welcome! Have fun!!
Sorry for the fuzzy Pictures. Need to check my camera for a dirty lense

Hi Lonewolf, I'm glad someone else shares my feelings for this "devils spawn" called PE . I must check my LHS for the chains you mean, I have never thought to look there for this .
I like the look of your green, what colour is it exactly?
(I hope they're enamel paints )

@ Paul!
I don't like photo etch because of the two dimensional look of it. Plus I can't afford the etch sets most of the time anyway. My microphones on modern tank helmets is actually fine wire and very small pieces of styrene. As to the color of my Leopard, sorry but it is a combination Tamiya Black Green and Field Gray. The tracks are Tamiya's earth and flat Black. Hope to start weathering it this weekend!

Lonewolf, thanks mate I also have Tamiya paints, and happen to have those two to. I'll might give them a try again, I stopped using them for airbrush work because the darned stuff dries up fast in the airbrush.
Here's todays update and this time it is really a quick one.
The tow cables, they are made of some copper wire I had left over from Trumpeter the shackles are from the Italeri kit
with 3mm brass rod added as attachment points. The Kit attachment just looked cr .

Hey Paul! Try thinning the tamiya paints with rubbing alcohol! I haven't had a problem since!! Your Leo is coming along nicely! Are you going to use camo nets too?

A little more to see now.
I'm trying for a reasonably accurate version of Tiger 121 on the return from Hunts Gap complete with battle damage. I've already made one accuracy mistake that's more than a little difficult to rectify at this stage, I'm intrigued whether you rivot counters will spot it?
Hope you like it
Andy

Yeah... the paint!
I'd be confident of making a good job of a dunkelgelb, but this one is going to be predominantly RAL7008 Grunengrau (not the pea green shade). It's not the most inspiring colour, looking a bit like snot. If anyone has any experience using this colour, what filters work, what colour oils work, etc etc I'd gratefully receive the advice.

Lonewolf love how the leo looks. Not bad considering it’s an old kit and built straight from the box. Are you planning to have any crew for it?
Paul you leo is coming along nicely. I think I will have to add the early batch leo to my list but not sure if I want to tackle the resin tracks from PSM.
Well I’ve made some progress on my C2. I have the front and rear hull finished. There were some iffy points during construction involving the PSM conversion mostly dealing with the replacement ice cleats in the kit. Their bit over scale and caused the retaining mounts to shift up leaving the alignments holes wide open. I’ve also started working on the roller mount to test fit it too the hull. More to follow soon.

@Chris: thanks for the praise! The Italeri kit is good for an old kit! I have camo nets on just need to paint and weather them! Yes I have figures for her but I'm doing some alterations to them 1st before I show them off!

Lonewolf shes looking good there
Andy you have done a good job on the Tiger , the painting will also look great I'm sure
Christopher cool looking build as always . As for the tracks on my Leo I'm not sure yet. I have just found a picture
from 1965 with a 2nd Baulos vehicle with what appear to be D640 tracks . I certainly am not going to use the PSM track, I already have the Orochi leopard track set, so I'll either push it and stick them on as they are, or I'll shape them to look like the D139.

Update on the Puma IFV.
Added the brown to the camo.
Added the tow cable and mirrors. Final painting touches like the lights, reflectors, and glass. For decals I just used the German insignia and weight. The kit decals had their license tags blank and you had to designate them. They almost got a "55378008", but I ended up just not worrying about it. Most of the pictures I saw didn't have a license plate showing. I decided against doing a lot of heavy weathering and washes. It's basically got a light wash and that's it.
And with that, I am calling this one done. All in all, this was a nice little build of a modern German Puma. I'll shove a couple of finished pictures in the gallery today.

Alex, nice build, but aren't you going to add any weathering?
You could make it look a lot better with some beating up....
J.Poitras, a KT is always a good build, looking forward to seeing more.
Here is todays update, as I said I'm using the Orochi track set and I must say they look good. The drawback is, it took me 2 1/2 hours to get them off the sprue, cleaned and put together.
Here some pics:
I was going to try and make the Diehl D139 E2 track but after I had found a picture with a prototype vehicle with the newer track I decided against it.
They really are 100% workable tracks, and put together with no glue. The only thing that worries me is that vinyl
end connectors are made of a material like early DS styrene / AFV club styrene / Bronco styrene, that stuff melted on me after a paint job with enamels . I guess I'll just use acrylics on the them to avoid any hassle.

Nice work on the track Paul! I'd use Tamiya acrylics on the track. Here's an update on my Leopard. Camo netting in place but still have to spruce it up a bit! Also the figures are almost complete and ready for painting! All comments welcome! Have fun!!

Some nice looking Leopards guys.
Paul, I went back and forth on weathering the Puma. I decided to keep it really clean and limit it to a wash. I didn't want to risk the paint job. I took the same approach with the Leopard 2 I did for the Unfinished Business Campaign.
At some point I'll probably pull the both of them off the shelf and monkey with them a bit. I've got a couple other Cold War and modern kits that are scheduled for a makeover as well.

Thanks Lonewolf, those figures look cool , should be real nice when painted up. I also like the camneting , I think I might just do something similar.
Here todays update, the tracks are now on, the next move is to get the ovm stuff in place:

Hi there here's todays update.
Re-arranged tool stowage, and the adding of dirt/mud from my own mix of stuff:
Hopefully I'll get some paint on there tomorrow.

Another Puma, started Dec 2013, then nothing for 4 months, and now some paint. Revell made a real shake & bake kit here, very easy to assemble.
