Dang, I just figured out that I have the rubber band tracks that came with the kit. The builder ripped me off 'cause I paid for the AFV Club individual link track set

Pro Builder?
Wouldn't happen to be the one that has a lot on Ebay? listed as "Pro Built"?
- To keep anyone else from falling into this Abyss
Best of luck for hopefully getting it straightened out.
In the future check here first, you'll get a lot of answers

John, you are absolutely right that I should have checked out the build specs with this forum first. I relied on the builder which was very naive on my part
The fellow Choo Huang Ming is in Penang, Malaysia and sells on eBay under Hiddenstrike-Miniatures username. I do think he has some talent with paint and was more puzzled than upset about the build flaws until this last straw with the tracks...that was just dishonest

Colin, I sent you a PM. Steve has very graciously offered to send me a barrel and I could use help spraying it to match.
Also, can I retro-fit the AFV Club track at this stage? I'd love to tackle that job...tedious but simple seems right up my alley.

Thanks! I think foilage over the rear deck would mask the panel gaps. Can someone please direct me to a good product? I'm looking for thin tree branches with leaves, not bush like the RR lichen.
I've fixed up the remaining broken bits and added paint, details and weathering to inside of hatches. Need to add power cable to headlamp. Anything else I'm missing?
Note: the figures are an eBay score, not mine.

Here is an update for all those generous contributors to this thread :-) I've finished all the fixes, including the new barrel supplied by Tiger wizard Steve. Added new figures, little bit of foliage, and a diorama background. The work required to restore this "pro-built" model has actually reawakened my inner modeller dormant since teenage years!

Looks good, you might want to add some silver to the tracks, they are way too rusty for a Panzer working in an urban setting. The tracks would have the raised areas shiny as they make contact with the street.

Good tip! Should I use silver paint or perhaps rub graphite on? Not sure how pronounced this effect should be.

Hey Dean. I also am back living in edmonton and hold membership in The IPMS chapter here.. you should make an effort to come out and meet the rest of us, and bring your completed diorama. It looks like a great build. I think you would enjoy it and you can learn a lot from these guys. there are some fantastic Builders here.

Hi folks: I'm replacing the earlier pics with a new diorama which is based on an incident during the 2nd Warsaw uprising. Five newly-repaired Tiger I tanks were delivered to Totenkopf a few days earlier and one was captured by resistance fighters on Narbutta street on Aug. 2, 1944. This is that tank, about to meet its fate.
A Polish friend who's grandfather participated in the uprising was kind enough to research this locally and confirmed the tank in Narbutta street was attacked by the partisans and the crew abandoned the vehicle. As it was practically undamaged the tank was used by the Polish soldiers until one of the inexperienced youngsters broke the transmission and left it sitting useless in the middle of Grójecka street.
I welcome any suggestions on how to improve this diorama :-) I want to add partisan figures in the building, preparing to attack with Molotov cocktails and perhaps captured Panzerfaust. The 70th anniversary will be the subject of much interest and commemorations this year I am told, perhaps more so with the difficulties of their neighbors in Ukraine.
Just to repeat, I am a history buff but not a model builder so the elements, kit/figures/diorama, are purchased and I modify (LOL, and often repair) to suit my specific scenario. FWIW, the builder in Malaysia that was the source of such disappointment did eventually kick back some money, apparently after reading this thread. Way to go, Armorama!
