I've begun assembling the parts that won't be replaced by etch. I have also attached the suspension, nose and rear bulkhead to the lower hull. Hopefully, I can find some more work to do today.

So..... Would a Piper L-4 be appropriate for the campaign?

Mike -

I second that yes - check out my original reply to your question at the end of page 5 in this forum.

Jerry

Ah. OK. I see read that. Just goes to show you that you should read everything.

I intend to model this tank:

I may add some more spare track over the markings. I have seen photos of Shermans sporting Churchill tracks, during Op. Market and may do this.

Can I build the tank shown on this site?:

http://www.pantser.net/wo2-uk-made/w02-sherman-firefly-Ic.htm

From what I can tell, it would be appropriate.

Alex Nice start on the bren gun carrier, are you making a dio for the campaign? As mentioned in the rules part builds are okay as long as they are part of something bigger.

Pete

Thanks it really is a nice little kit, especially for its age.

My plan was to build it as a separate vehicle for this campaign. After the campaign I was going to use it as part of a diorama. I'm thinking of a "on the road" style scene. I have another Carrier, a M4A4, but those are basically done already.

What I might do is make a little simple base and work some figures for it.

I have seen this type in Market Garden pictures before so why not, can't remember any specific units though sorry.
Interesting choice btw does anybody actually brought it out as a kit or are you going to kit bash for it?

Do you mean this type of Sherman or this specific vehicle?
Looking at the road sign behind the tank this is nowhere near the Market Garden operation area.

Based on the road sign this is somewhere in Zeeland on the west coast. Most likely the tail end of operation Vitality to open up the river entrance to the much needed port of Antwerp. The fighting here was done by the Canadian 1st army. Some real fierce fighting took place there.

Nice start Matt and Andy.

Matt I don't have any issues with what type, but you need to give some reference either a pic or writing to say it was there. We need to keep it as per the rules buddy.

Alex I have just started building the same kit and in a couple of hours got it pretty much finished. I am not using it for this campaign though.
My kit has been posted woo hoo.

A quick search came up with this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/11th_Armoured_Division_(United_Kingdom)

The 11th Armored Division did participate in Op. Market Garden, but was not part of the main push. Rather, it was tasked with securing the right flank. Will this be acceptable?

I like to think so but I'm not the big boss in this campaign
The 11th was around Nuenen and reinforced the 101 airborne there around the 21st of September. A big reference on the fighting in this area is in Band of brothers. The episode where Easy gets their ass kicked and has to pull out of Nuenen and several Shermans get knocked out in the process, all of them with the 11th insignia. Sergeant Bull gets separated is left behind and he has to hide in a barn for a while.

I mean this specific vehicle. According to the site, this specific tank was deployed. I believe the rest of the Shermans purchased by Belgium were put into service.

Here is my kit recently arrived, and a handful of resin airborne troops as extras. I also have a Italeri Willys medic jeep, and a base I may use which I started a while ago.

Will be starting soon.

Slight change of plan on mine. Still going with this...

http://www.miniart-models.com/HQ_IMAGES/BOX/1_35_d/36013.jpg

but rather than a 6lber I'm going for the 17lber from Bronco which I'll have to order along with the crew which I'll convert to Paras which shouldn't be too horrific a job as I've done it before. I'll have to have a look under the stairs to see what Para stuff I've got in there

Hi Peter,

I got all excited about 7 year ago when MB announced their Horsa .

Even started on a plan:

The Horsa never arrived but the plans not dead just pending lol, although exactly where I'd display it now is another matter .

Maybe one day.

Cheers

Al
