Hi Everybody;
I can see all kinds of possibilities with this, the BMP-2D !
To do a correct 2D they will have to add the long welded metal plate on the left of the driver and squad commander stations.
But that's nice start.
I just wonder if the fuel cap is not too large.

The comment on the fan page states that the BMP-2 will come with the interior modeled, although it's not sure how detailed it will be (IIRC, the BMP-3 is kinda partially modeled compared to e.g. BTR kits?).

Hi Everybody;
I am sure the AM Boys are already Gearing-Up with Sets for this kit, the Engine is probably asking for too much. Even the BMP-3 as Extensive the Interior was in there kits, there still was A Ton of Details that was Not included in the Kits. Now on the Plus side some of the details were hard too see anyway You can Bet the PE sets are Bound too be quite Extensive both for the Exterior as well as the Interior. How many Different Mks; will we see of the BMP-2, the D for sure and the version with all the Bar Armor I can see coming Down the Road in the Future.

Y'know, I haven't seen that happening recently. There haven't been many upgrades, correction sets, and interiors released for Trumpeter and Hobby Boss kits. Outside of SP Designs, there doesn't seem to be much except for PE. I just don't think the market is there any more for all that resin stuff.

As soon as someone with access to one takes the time to photograph and measure the inside of it.

Hi Everybody;
IMHO the Interior for the BMP-3 is all that you need for Basic Details, even with all of the Hatches open you are limited on just how much you can see at any given angel.
Now on the BMP-3 that I super detailed, and after many Hours of going over details and taking notes in the End I thought hard if it was all worth it. When looking in too the BMP-3 from the Rear there is A lot of details that need too be added too the Turret Basket alone, ie; The Carousel,
the auto-loader with the added ammo hoist, and its support braces, the electric wires that need too be added, and all of the ammo needed if you want too show it loaded.
The details are just too Numerous too add too this Discussin. I Could Go On and On with the added details that I built into my BMP-3. Now this is Getting Too Long with the O.T. ! But the BMP-3 has Plenty of Details and makes into A Stunning Model.

Yeah, at least it has something and since the engine is in the back, you don't see as much as through e.g. the BMP-1's top and rear doors the Trumpeter model of which has absolutely NO interior modeled.
It's a shame that finally a company makes all these Soviet Cold War vehicle kits and there is zero aftermarket full interior sets for them. Maybe the problem is that there are too many vehicles being released in a rather short time span by Trumpeter so it's hard to guess which one will be bought in sufficiently large numbers to justify the investment into developing the set

Hi Everybody;
As Sure As God Made Green Little Apples, You Can Bet There Will Be Somebody Who Will Provide You With a Set !!!!!
How Extensive it will be we will just have too wait and see, now trumpeter could have gone into it fairly easy and made just enough of a Interior too satisfy most of us. And looking at the Sprue Shots of the Hull Tub it looks like there mite be the Drivers position in mind, and there is bound too be those people who are going too give it a shot. In any case I an going too Purchase this kit for sure !

Well Mike, no one can say you aren't optimistic! However, I don't think that there's any basis for that level of certainty. After all, look at this list:
DML
BMP-1
BMP-2
BRDM-2
BTR-70
BTR-80
ZSU-23-4
T-34-85
IS-2
ISU-122/152
Trumpeter
KV-1
KV-2
SU-152
Tamiya
IS-2
ISU-152
IS-3
(and Char B1 bis and Matilda II, for that matter!)
All of these have been out for at least two years, others many more, yet most of them never had a interior set made for them. (The non-PE conversion and upgrade set picture is a little better but it is still very slim.) Given that history, I just don't see any reason to expect anything on the newer kits either.

Tbh modern armour just doesn't lend itself well to interior update sets. The layout of most modern tanks is far too complex to be tackled in any sort of upgrade without the company offering such a thing having to include heaps of small PE parts and delicate details.

Hi Guys;
I Hear What Your Saying, now I Don't know how long either of you have been Modeling. But you have too take into account what they were not able too accomplish even ten years ago they are able too make now. Example; The BMP-3, look at the Details that they give you in the kit, agree some of its just Basic Details and needs A Lot that they left out, and look at the New Bradley. The Technology is there, and there are other kits that People are Asking for Interior Details. Will we see A Lot of kits with Interior's, Probably Not. There is only So much you can Incorporate into A 1/35 Scale Model, and lets NOT Talk about the Economics Side of trying too Scale it.

Ok so I'm a little confused. I've been poking around on Trumpeter's FB page and I saw the announcement of the PLA Type86A but never a BMP-2. I realize the Type86A is a BMP-2 from the gun down but is Trumpeter also releasing a proper BMP-2 that would include Russian decals and whatnot?

Do you have any in-progress or other photos of your build? I'm working on and off on the first Trumpeter release (no more motivation for the Skif kit - maybe later!) and am detailing up the back end - at least what is visible from the open rear upper hatches. Would be interesting to see what you've done.

Hi Guys;
Nathan; The Answer is Yes; we are getting the BMP-2, it has followed the BMP-1 that was already released in two different Mks; ! From looking at the Sprue pics, the upper hull looks pretty Good, the rear upper hatches look like they are in the Correct Alignment with the upper hull. Which was A Sore Contention in the Old DML BMP-2 !
Now what I an concerned about is the Turret and the 2A42 30mm Gun which will most likely need replaced with AM Barrels. Its going too be Interesting too see how many BMP-2s Trumpy, will be willing too make, the D version with the KMT-10 sure would be A Good Start.
Jim; The BMP-3 is A Good Project for A Super Extra Detail Undertaking if you really want too get that CRAZY, but you have too ask your self just how much detail you want into your build. as I mentioned earlier, there is A Ton of details inside the BMP-3 that are not included in the kit.
If you are thinking about A Dio, then it takes A Different Mind Set, my BMP-3 was just A Static Build with All of the Hatches Opened. And I wanted too see just how much details that I could add that you would see when opened up.
Now; References are A Must !( As I am sure you are aware of ) The e-net was some Help, and I have Concords Book on the BMP-3 by Mr. Zaloga which was A Must as it has some pics, of the Interior. For Me My-Self, when I Attempt too Dwell in too Foolish Extra Detailing, it helps too take notes on the items that have too be added.
I have been wanting too post pictures on our site for quite some time now, and just as soon as I can find the Nikon Camera that fits my needs I Will post pics, I Promise !

Looks nice, and I am really hoping for that interior.
Can still not understand why their BMP-1 is completely devoid of an interior, consdering Trumpeters good work on interiors in many of their other kits.
