So with the recent onslaught of Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP's) coming on to the market I thought It would be a great time for a MRAP campaign.
Basic proposal right now would be something around a year in length, just because there still are new kits coming out and this would be a great place to showcase them. Start date 1 May 2015 to 1 May 2016
All companies, scales would be welcome, as well as OOB's, scratch builds, and full whole hog attempts with AM parts is okay.
So who wants to build some MRAPS?

Hi André!
Yes, we need to talk about it. I just love this kind of vehicle.
BTW, my Cougar is the Meng's 6x6 and I have the MaxxPro too.
Abraço!

six so far, need a few more. I would have thought this campaign would get more attention with all the MRAPS out there.

Well there's 8, hopefully more people join. Its good to have everyone aboard so far.
I have not yet decided on a model, I am debating between the Meng Cougar and perhaps and M-ATV or Maxx Pro.

I'll add my name to the list, however I'll be stepping back a few decades and hope to finally get around to building a 'Pookie' or the original 'Cougar'.

If a Canadian RG-31 works for this campaign then I am in.
Cheers Rob.

RG-31 is an MRAP so good to go.
I think I'll do the Panda Jerrv. Its the version I have been waiting on, and if the way the 4x4 was released a few weeks after the CAD it should be here in time for the campaign start.
Posted: Saturday, February 07, 2015 - 03:54 AM UTC
Hopefully they'll make the JERRV a bit more build friendly than I've heard the 4x4 is. I've been following Hisham and Pascal's builds, which was why I was working up the nerve to start cutting plastic. Kind of glad this idea came along, motivation is a good thing!

Quick question for this campaign, would a tank that has been fitted with a mine protection kit allowed? I'm thinking of building a Leopard 2A6M CAN updated for the Afghan mission.
Thanks,
Christian

That does not fit the build. The build is for MRAPs and that is just a tank with a mineplow on it.

I didn't make a reference to a mineplow but thank you for your answer.
