Well, I did the first page in the instructions today.. Can't speak for accuracy, as I'm no expert, but I can say that the fit of the parts is generally very good.. I'm just going to do a quick out of the box build to see how it goes.. Only problem I had was aligning the connection points on that thing that looks like a hose next to the driver's seat.. but I guess that's on me

I'll try to post progress pics whenever I can

Just for size reference... Like I said, it's a small vehicle

Nice start Hisham.

I'm not familiar with 1:35 scale kits but I was very surprised to see the size of the bodywork when I opened the box.

I second Luis, Hisham.

Nice start, I'll follow it.

Cheers!

All those dimples lack sharpness, shave off everything and go to work with the punch & die.

Just kidding...

The one thing I don't like is the back of the seat.. wish they'd made it in one piece. Like I said, this is just a quick build.. I have another one which I'll leave for a later date awaiting to see what AM sets will be made for it.. But generally speaking, it's not bad at all for a company's first kit

I do think this back side needs some putty. The rest of the kit looks correct. Detail is not as sharp as I hoped but I can live with it.
Thanks for sharing.

So I shouldn't throw away my Coree resin kit just yet?

Thanks, Walter.. I was just checking out your AMX30 thread.. wish I can do work like that someday

I saw this pic showing the backs of the seats and they do have a "seam" running around them.. so, I guess they shouldn't be filled up with putty completely

Looks very busy the interior of the kit....nice start Hisham.

Is this your first actual build on here? You're always first with the news on anything modern but I think this must be your first b-log!

Hey Olivier.. too bad I found this pic after filling the gap after reading you comment I'll try to make some kind of a "seam line" to simulate this

Hey Sean.. I've posted a couple of times on the Feedback forum just to get some opinions, but this the first time I try to post the build from the start.. I'll try to post the progress I make whenever I can

Excellent start to the build Hisham- the interior is coming together really nicely- the detail looks great.

Sorry, my fault Hisham!

For your info, the back of the rear seat is removable to allow access to the seat from the rear door. Most of the time, the back is removed till someone is seated.

No problem, Olivier.. I'm just using this as a quick build.. not doing any real research.. I'll keep the other one for that

I just feel sorry for the crew who mans this vehicle.. it's so small and cramped

A bit like the Fennek in that way. The Fennek driver must have difficulty getting into the seat in full battle gear!

Just a little bit on the chassis... If you build this kit, watch out for the exhaust pipe.. there is a gap where the two parts of the pipe don't match up

And for size reference

Hi Hisham!

Even if you want just do a quick build, it looks better and better!

References are very important but the most important is if you like the final result and if you like the entire process.

Cheers!

Thanks, Marco.. but my skills are no way near yours.. Maybe if I live long enough and practice

I fixed the rear suspension, but something is strange about it.. it seems to be somewhat offset.. I checked and rechecked my work and the instructions and everything looks right. Is there something peculiar about the way the rear suspension is built on the real vehicle.. or is this an error in the kit. I wish someone else would start building it so I can fond out what went wrong

What do you mean by the rear axle being offset?
On a side note, the tire pattern has a kind of V which should point to the ground when looking at the vehicle from the front.

Hey, Olivier.. you know how with some tanks the wheels are not on the same line between left and right.. and if you hold a ruler between them you find that one wheel is a little but forward than the other? I'm getting the same thing with this a little bit. I don't think it's an error in building on my part because the rear axle assembly is one piece and the suspension parts are one piece, so there's not much room for alignment errors on my part.. But of course, there could be something I'm missing. I'll try to take a pic of it to see if it shows.

Thanks for pointing out the tire tread issue

I hope this pic shows it clearly.

I'm assuming it's my error, but I can't figure out where I went wrong

Hi Hisham!

Man, did you say I'm an old man?

I'm not so young, but I'm not half century yet.

Hisham, your build is great, don't worry about it.

Now, about the "off set", I think you're right. It looks like a torsion bars, just like a tank.

Keep the good work!

Cheers!

Marco
