The rear engine side from the Trumpy tractor is very poorly detailled, and this is quite visible when the model is finished !!!! !

What is missing :

Any pictures, informations ? TIA

Well, in addition to missing detail, what they give you is just plain wrong. Notice the contour differences at the end of the transmission. Perhaps I should start working with Trumpeter again.

Another great disappointment, is this damaged windshield window. And as all people know Trumpeter customer service doesn't exist

According to this video (53 minutes in) the clear parts are packed separately with padding. I really can't fault Trumpeter for this; their protective measures are better than average.
Pascal, I suggest dipping the scratched part in Johnson's Kleer (I think that is the European brand name) acrylic floor polish. It has worked surprising well for me.

KL

A commercial video can't be a proof of quality ! Despiste this and good packaging, my windows came unusable to me !

But that we need to learn, is the fact that Trumpeter ande Hobby Easy don't have any custumers service.

N,
I got the tractor on the mail last week. Glad to see it goes together well.
Pascal, Is there any wiring digrams or parts for it on the trailors. I was wondering if at least the Generator set has power cables to the launcher section.

All these informations are classified, so nothing available.

Are there any good photos online of the wiring you added? I'm working on mine now, and I built mine so that the outriggers can posed in a launcher or transport mode.

I am strongly considering this one, but have noticed a potential error? The outriggers look like they can only be built extended OOB, yet the screws that wind them down appear to be molded in the raised position, ie not a lot of screw exposed.

Can someone please clarify this for me. I#d also be interested to know how you made them raised please Vince?

How stupid of me, I just looked again and it's obvious the screws wind in to "pull" the legs down. Sorry.. my bad.

I guess it's the Miniman Factory kit :

All I had to do was replace the kits screw jacks with telescoping brass tubing and I drilled out all the hinged joints and reinforced them with wire. But the downside of doing this is that if you posed them in the down position, they won't hold the model up.

Thanks Vince. Now that I have the kit I can see exactly what you mean. I wasn't planning on having them moving, but more like having them posed in the transportable position. It's a shame that trumpeter didn't include longer screws as an option for this in the box??

Anyway, back to Pauls build.. how's it coming along Paul??

What a great Idea Pascal!! I was going to use M2 threaded rod, which wouldn't have looked half as good as your idea of wrapping wire around rod!! thanks for sharing.

I have just finished assembling all eight legs, and am going insane. I don't know about your feelings, but I think this kit is petty poor in quality when you consider the amount of clean up required.. maybe it gets better now the legs are out of the way?

BTW, do you model 24/7? I've never seen anyone work so fast.

I've just had another thought... if Trumpeter designed the kit to be displayed on stands, surely the suspension has sag built in, so when coupled up to your tractor unit it will sit high at the back?

Well, I can answer the question now myself as I've built both trailers.. there is no sag, so the trailer will look fine on the back of the M983 and if you can be fussed, the sag will need to be built into the trailer on supports.

I think what Nige means, is does the kit show the weight taken of the axles when the trailer is on the outriggers. And no, it doesn't. But judging for photos, the real one doesn't sag

Just received the Real Model HEMTT engine,

Really nice & useful upgrade for the Trumpy kit, wich is poor in detail and accuracy for this part of the truck !
