That thing has be on the craziest idea ever. Up there with the Ratte and Monster machines, except this thing was actually built and tested "somewhat". I would love to build one in 1/35th someday, but I'm afraid it would have to be a scratch build.

LOL! I like this as a campaign idea. I've always thought M60A2s were so ugly.
Happy modeling!

It's the turret that does it for me. The hull looks ok, but the turret looks like something slapped together by the stage crew of a local high school for some play

Da, the stage propski team of the Moscow Drama Polytechnica!
100 bucks worth of sheet metal tacked onto a T-80 turret, and look at all those shot traps!

Yes, I believe this one's photoshopped. And yes the the first thing that came to my mind upon reading this thread was the Lee / Grant -- just could't understand what made them go for such design.

IIRC it was due to the war coming as a surprise to the USA meaning they lacked the means (welded armour, a cast turret that could house a 75mm, a clear purpose for the tank) to create a good conventional medium tank in a pinch. It was at least better than the M2 the U.S had in 1941 which was basically a tracked box full of M1919s with a Stuart turret on top.
(I still love both tanks though)

This unhansom devil, the M50 Ontos, has the power to trigger my gag reflex everytime.
What's the plan here? Will we have a group build requiring each of us to construct our candidate vehicle? LOL

Still better looking than any Churchill variant.
Heck, better than Mr. Churchill himself.

What is it? The tracks look like from a Char B
A campaign sounds cool -- Frankentanks maybe? But what would be the regs? -- the "ugliness" seems to be a subjective matter....

As far as I know there's never been a kit in any scale... That says something. With a Char B as the basis possibly not too hard a scratchbuild, although I think it's got quite complicated engine deck venting, the rest of it is flat plates.

Hi
For me it has to be the TOG. What a complete waste of metal. One survives at Bovington. Thank goodness the people behind this never had the influence to put it into production with so many better tanks already being used or in development. Hard to imagine in British tank development the Centurion was only a couple of years away from appearing when you see what these other designers had come up with ...
Not only is it ugly looking, but it's "ugly and wrong" in it's concept. Wrong on many levels.
Here is renowned tank expert David Fletcher describing the pile of .....
