So I saw this thread over at Aeroscale and though it would be good to have something like it on Armorama (don't nominate the Bob Semple because that's a dead horse)
My choice would have to be the original Matilda I. It looks like Orks built it.

Yes! It does. Or, it looks like my attempt to build an M1.

I've always thought the Object 279 was an ugly duckling:
But then the US Semi-Trailer Super Heavy Tank was a pretty lame idea, and ugly IMHO (image from 46 Models website):

Well according to my Mum tanks are all ugly killing machines and she could never understand why I would want to build a model of one! I mean philosophically I suppose she has a point but I have been fascinated by armour and its history ever since I was a kid with plastic armies and I must say a heavy influence from Bovington!
So it is tough to pick one that is ugly to me. I'll have to think on that!

Hi all,
Not sure if this will work as I've never tried putting an image in a post, so here goes...
I nominate the 'Praying Mantis', a variant of the Universal/Bren Gun Carrier.
http://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/fhsw/images/4/4f/GB-PrayingMantis-HomeGuard.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20120914185201
Though i am a tad torn, is it truly ugly or is it actually quite futuristic looking...one of the killing machines from a Terminator movie?
Regards
G

Darn, didn't work, how does one embed an image as opposed to creating a link to it?

Looks like a lot of these tanks are a result of cross breeding between an design engineer and a cartoonist...

I think it"s kind of cute
well may be a face only a mother could love
It looks like it was made by some homeless guy out of stuff he found in a dumpster. I envision it travelling about 30 feet and then just falling apart.

Hi Vette,
In the UK we'd probably refer to some of them as 'Heath Robinson', .
On Wiki it suggests your equivalent in the US would be 'Rube Goldberg machines'? .
