Tactical Quite Generator have a certain potential. They are compact and may be printed in one piece. For example MEP 1030 is 45 in. long, 32 in. wide and 36 in. high. That makes it 1.28 in. by 0.91 in by 1.02 in. TM`s can be found easily on the net.

Question: is there either a clear or a transparent red option for printing material at Shapeways? Doesn't need to be super clear - foggy/smoky red is perfect. This is actually for a special piece I have in mind. (Small cosmetic part for an O gauge/scale RR locomotive - not available from any other source.)

Unfortunately, no. You might be able to get the part in what was the Frosted detail material and then paint the back of it.

Probably the frosted material would do and then I could paint it with transparent stop light red to get the effect.
A very simple lantern style locomotive marker light for O gauge, 3-rail, prewar American Flyer locomotives. Originally molded in some sort of semi-transparent red rubber or plastic.
Seems that at least one is always missing and no one makes a replacement.

If it's just a one off, why not just turn it in a hobby drill. Acrylic rod is available in clear and a large selection of colours.

I was considering making a quantity of these marker lights. Please note; in addition to the basic shape they have a mounting stud sticking out the rear.
Also I was considering marking a more detailed lantern than the original that you see here.

I have been battling with getting tires that are correct shape/form/size for the AFV truck kits. Specifically, the 2.5 ton and 5 ton truck kist, M35/M109 and the new M54.
DEF made AM resin sets for both, and Real Model in CZ already had a set for the 5 ton but these were not meant for the AFV kits by design.
DEF tire "sagging" is waaaay overdone, and the tire dimensions are questionable. When paired up for the rear duals, the M54 wheels extend well past the side of the truck, indicating that the basic design of the DEF wheels is off. The designer sent a facebook message, saying he was sorry and that AFV had only supplied him with the pre-production kit wheels/tires, not the entire truck, so he was not aware of the resin AM wheels not actually fitting the kit they were designed for! He has since pulled those wheel sets.
The M35 series tires should be 9.00 x 20, while the M54 5 ton cargo truck tires are 11.00 x 20. Several variants of the 5 ton use a larger 12.00 x 20 size tire, and one variant uses a massive 14.00 x 20 (Honest John launchers).
I would love to see an accurate tire for both the M35 and M54 trucks. To be honest, it would really be cool if the larger 12.00 x 20 tires were also made available, as I would use these items on my truck.

How are you at doing WW2 jerry cans in 1/24 scale.
I know some one does the American gas can but what about the British and German versions or even the American water can.
Give me your thoughts on this the reflectors for the Willys MB would 3D printing work or would it be better to stick with PE. I'm talking in 1/24 scale. If you say PE you hinted you knew some one that does PE maybe drop them a hint. What I don't like about some of the PE sets is all the extra pieces you may not use., so it's nice to see a fret like the one with just empty gas can holders.

Sorry I haven't replied in a while. I've been busy with the last week of the semester, setting up a new 3D printer, and setting up a website. The printing operation is getting better and should be ready *soon*. The website should also be ready soon. I just need to get more products up then it can go live. You will be able to order the same products through the website that you can through Shapeways. I can print them in either 10 micron or 20 micron resolution depending on the option chosen. Lead times are between 1 to 2 weeks for 20 micron prints and 2 to 4 weeks for 10 microns. I don't want to over promise and under deliver so that's the reason for such long lead times. If you need a product right away, I can expedite it. I'm also looking into printing with clear and translucent green resins for the bottles that I have. This way I can print specific types of bottles like coca-cola bottles, sprite, beer bottles, etc. I'll get some pictures of the stuff I've printed up soon.
I also will most likely not keep stock of most of the products. Almost all will be printed on an as-ordered basis. Products like clear bottles or a tank kit will be stocked in small quantities, though, because they would be so niche and it would be more time effective to stock them.

Excited to see your own printing results Mike! Have you considered long term joining up with other sources for say PE, or decals as weapon stencils are pretty rare?
I think you are smart to start slowly and not over promise. We have all seen excellent start ups that suddenly can not keep up with orders. This leads to slow response, long delivery delays, poor quality, angry customer comments and the death spiral. Mike your work to date is so nice I for one do not want to see you ever burn out. Make it right and they will come. Wishing you much success!

I've set the website live now! mikesmsproductions.com is the new website. Like I said, I'll still offer everything on Shapeways but from now on new products will hit the website first and then Shapeways shortly after that (probably later in the day or after a day or so). I'm now on winter intersession so I have a lot of designing to catch up on and time to do printing.
About photoetching. I have found some firms that do photochemical etching so I'll look into them and see if they can't produce some projects. I'm not sure if they'll produce on a very small like this, though.

I'll order direct from your site vice Shapeways. I placed my order for the LVTP5 roadwheels on 24 Nov and the anticipated ship date is 24 Dec. I don't mind the wait if from a "one man fighting hole" but, from a larger company whose sole purpose is printing and shipping the wait seems excessive.

Don't know if this has been already suggested but how about some welders gear. There are several sets available with the gas and oxygen bottles with lids but not the actual valve on top. And what about cutting or welding torches. Might have to also make some heads with old style goggles or modern full face masks.
Never can tell someone might be planning a dio about cutting up a Panther for some supplemental armor . . . .

Thanks for letting me know about this. I just fixed it. I was so focused on getting products on to the website that I forgot to add shipping options. I'll extend the sale.

I fixed everything that's been brought to my attention so far on the website. It's running smoothly now. I'm also adding a Sprue Removal service option. Price will increase based on the number of products you purchase up to 5+ items. Starts at $4 for one item and increases to $11 for 5+ items. I don't honestly know how expensive or inexpensive this would be. I would base it off of Shapeways' pricing for this but they never mentioned that cost and they removed the material that used those supports. If you feel the price is too high, let me know.
And this project is almost over! The T49 experimental tank destroyer is nearly finished. It will use track available for the M18 Hellcat.
