I've finished my Ford Maultier and while fiddling with the gun it will tow(3,7 cm Flak 36 by Bronco), I started another scratchbuild(writing off another planned entry for the Scratch Builder Campaign ...):

The 75 mm Schneider-Canet M1904 QF Field Gun(aka Schneider PR)


I found an exemplar at a vilage Memorial:



Driving by each day, I've spent some hours taking dimensions:

and started the build last weekend:

When ready, the gun will be towed by Fiat SPA TL.37(Criel Model's # R056).
Such couple from Bulgarian 1st Fast Division was pictured crossing Morava river in Jugoslavia in spring of 1941:

I worked on the frame today.Lot of rivets and rivet-counting...
Received a pair of wheels from a friend and modified them a little bit.
Did a mock-up assembly to check overall appearance:




So far so good!

Hi Angel - beautiful work - wow! I really like your frame and the nice, uniform curves. It looks great. And...all those rivets...that's plenty of rivets and patience. Thanks for posting the update.

Angel I am following your build very closely. I especially like the Italian Tractor you have chosen.

There is one on display at the Victory Museum in Auburn, Indiana. I know I have a few snaps of this vehicle. I will see if I can dig them up.

It is looking sensational Angel. Love it.

The TL 37 doesn't appear to have as many parts as I would have expected, but that one piece casting for the body looks amazing. A work of art in the mould. Please shows progress pics on that somewhere too.

Here is a picture of TL.37 from Sofia's MNMH 10 years ago:

Since then the vehicle disappeared from the exhibition-hopefully it was not sold abroad.

Fiat TL.37 chassy is top of my scratchbuild-wishlist.
It is a beauty rearly seen:

Unfortunately- Criel Model's resin kit will not allow me to detail the chassy- the bottom of the platform is sitting quite low...
I only hope one day some plastic kit company will release it in 1/35th scale, till then I'll continue collecting material.

I've done bit more on my Schneider-Canet:shield,elevation and traverse wheels, some rivets and crown bolts:

There would be an upside to that, if it was restored with loving care. It is so sad to see these pieces left out in the open to deteriorate. Imagine what another 10 years in the elements would have done to the one in your pic.

....and of course the build just gets better....

Could you shave the resin body of the tractor off of the molded in chassis and make your own? The photos of chassis and running gear of the unrestored version look very unique - maybe worth the heavy cut work to be able to try and make your own?

Peter, you have a point.
It's only that I would love to see such heritage preserved in Bulgaria...which sadly seems not to be case too often...

Nick, the chassis is molded separately.
But with the body-molded in one piece-sitting too tight on the chassis, there is simply no room for powertrain machinery...
I'll see what I can do.

Next to come is the scratch of an one axle trailer used for motorized towing.

Could we please get a look at the underside body casting of the Trattore?

I did a similar resin model of the VC-1 and was able to simply add detail to the existing resin cast in place frame.

In any case would you mind showing it to us anyway, as I suspect I will be building this kit sometime in the future?

I've decided to change the color of the gun.
Mixed a green with grassy appearance and sprayed it on the gun.
Added some weathering:



Did also some construction on the FIAT TL.37.
Will try to detail the chassy as much as possible.
