A bit more progress on my Sd.Kfz 10:



In the following two photos you can see a gap between the hull sides and fenders.





I thought the sidewall parts would fit in here and fill this, but I realized that they actually fit into railings and can be moved up or down. I'm not sure if the gap from the top is supposed to be there and I'm considering filling it with some very thin sheet styrene.

Gap from the top??? Not sure what you mean. There should be no gap between the fender and the body side.

The sliding side walls on the model can be made to actually work if you are careful with the spacing of the tracks and the gluing.

p.s. The Sd. Kfz. 10 at the Patton actually came with black leather pads running along the tops of these sliding side doors/walls. They made for very nice arm rests while driving! I doubt they were original WWII but the Patton did not add them and all the upholstery on the vehicle matched; seats, back rests and arm rests.

It's less a gap I guess and more a shallow indentation. I thought it was for the bottom of the sliding side panels to fit into, but of course that was before I realized they were sliding.

Looks like the vertical side of the plastic chassis tub is slightly warped inward. I think you have one solution to the problem and you have taken care of it.

I probably would have clamped the fender to the chassis tub till the glue dried in hopes that the fender would pull the chassis side outward. Would have been just my luck I would have ended up with two warped pieces instead of just one.

Mr. K, I like what you have finished so far. Where did you get the information on the winch?

The winch? It's just an imaginative removal.
On the military truck Kraz-260, the winch sits at the rear of the chassie, below the bed. On this -6446 tractor, I fixed it in a new position instead of throwing away. Maybe it's a what-if structure.
