Robbin, we can always count on you to be the voice of reason! I love your posts. Not a PC bone in your body. I have to agree with everything you said. Every vehicle ever built has been used at one point or another to kill innocent people. I build what I like. You do the same. I am tired of the selective outrage people express. If you don't like what someone builds them don't look at it, and please keep your opinion about its suitability to yourself.

Regards,

Eric

Whenever I see, hear or read about someone being offended about a modeling subject the old ISIS flag post comes to mind. What happened flight MH17 was a tragedy but it wasn't the fault of the weapon system but the fault of the operators and they are the ones you should be protesting.

I'm not getting "moral" in any way. I said what I said: it's a kit. Plastic is plastic.

BUT. Anyway, just like any other weapon we love to model, it's good to know what it means, and specially more in this precise case with all the rumourology, lies and fake news around the MH17. And it's also logical someone, somewhere, could feel a bit of discomfort towards that precise kit. The same discomfort someone, somewhere, would feel if a model company releases some airliners related to a precise, shameful september day. And don't you love airliners?

That was my point and nothing more.

Ok guys, point taken. Can we please move back to the model. I enjoy the off-topic opinions, but that is what the off-topic forums are for.

I have been waiting for this kit for a long time. 1. I enjoy the tracked AAA systems over the wheeled versions, 2. I like the look of this system and 3. it is a VERY effective AAA system that would have been (would be) a very tough nut to crack if the balloon had gone up. Should be a fun build.

As a 9/11 WTC survivor I at least have no issue with jet liner kits. I am more concerned with the way the company I worked for at that time handled the aftermath and the displaced employees. Can't build a model of that so we're all good.

Relatives and friends from the 298 victims, regarding flight MH17 wil be thrilled.
No good memories about this kind of hardware.
I got some real mixed feelings regarding this offering.

Sorry, I wanted to get this of my chest.
So, lets move on!

Btw, I love Meng.

Well I thought the same thing but it's just a plastic kit. I make German WW2 tanks because I am interested in them not because of the regime that made them.

You could say the same thing about any military model kit. They are weapons of war. They have all killed lots of potentially innocent people. If you are hung up on this, maybe you should build car models instead.

Fair points, all. I too sometimes find myself asking the same questions when I look over my built kits and my stash, but if we were to apply this to every hobby....we would have no hobbies. In short, if you do not like it, then don't pony-up with your wallet. if you do like it, buy & build, Capitalism at it's finest.

PS - it is sure is a neat looking kit!
