Hi Guy's,
Here are a few quick snaps and as you can see I have progressed along with my Vc Firefly. I have the basecoate down and a highlight coat as well. I have sprayed it with a semi gloss coat for decal application and when the humidity clears out around here I will spray the dull coat so I can carry on with the weathering. The figs are Ultracast with Hornet heads. I modified the Loaders arms as they come cast straight down to his side and are cut off at the elbows (ouch) So I removed the stumps and added plastic arms from the spares box. As always your comments are always welcome.
Cheers,
Bryan

Bryan,
The tank looks super. Are the necks on the figures a little long or is it the angle of the picture?
I cant wait to see this beauty done. Please keep going...

I agree, the necks look a little long. On the other hand, the tank looks great. I particularly like the frayed tow cable.

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the encouragement. The necks are still long so that I can mount them on a painting stick. I just wanted to test fit everythng before I painted them. Thanks again for the comments.
cheers,
Bryan

Bryan, that is what I figured. (No pun intended here folks) :-)
At any rate, the tank is perfect. Can't wait to see the weathering and assembly.

Neat build, good paint job and I'm a fan of Ultracast figures. Can't wait to see it finished and weathered - looks strange to see a clean Sherman!
Is the cast texture in the kit or did I miss something in the previous posts?

Hi Dave,
Thanks for kind words mate. The texture was added with Tamiya putty and liquid cement and daubed on with an old brush. I then slightly sanded it to get the final effect. Here is a link to the pre-paint pics. Thanks again guys.

Hey Rick,
Thanks for the kudos Here's a list of paint used so far. All are Tamiya thinned with Tamiya Thinner at 40%
Preshade =black XF-1
Basecoate= OD XF-62+XF-59 Desert Yellow at 3-1
Highlight=XF-62+XF-59 at 1-1
I hope that helps a bit if not just email me and I can try and help out as best I can.
cheers,
Bryan

Your Firefly Vc is coming right along there ! Paint finish is perfect, and I really like that shot with the weld-seams and the cast texture !
Can't wait to see how you proceed. Send us more pics when you can
Cheers !!

Looking great there.. Bet you can't wait to get to those tracks. Or are u going to use some aftermarket tracks.
The kit tracks on the Dml Firefly are a job in themselves. I just finished one of these myself a while back and the tracks took longer to build than the rest of the tank :> anyways thanks for shareing your color mixture with us. On mine I used basicly a mixture of greens for an off OD / Faded Drab color I just mixed till I got a color i thought would look right.

thanks Guy's. Its always nice to hear your on the right track. Delbert I have gone with RHPS T74 British chevron's for the tracks. They are now painted and on the tank. I am just about ready to start weathering and preparing the base. I had a look at your stuff and It all looks great. Keep up the great work.
cheers,
Bryan
