Now that the Nascar season is in full swing, I was thinking maybe we could have a Nascar group build... the" Armorama 500 ". Rules are basic, any 1/24 - 1/25 scale Nascar from any period or year, even a small dio would be great to see. This is also to include the Bush class and the Craftsman Truck seires. So if anyone is intrested and has any ideas to add please do so and post them here. The last race date of the Nascar season is Nov. 20th, so that would make a great completion date. Now all we need is enough drivers and a start date.

Sounds like a great idea Mother.
I have two Monogram Nascars in my stash. It's about time at least one of them were build.
Since I'm already in two campaigns 20th of november sounds good to me.

Mother,
I have a couple in the stash as well.

Are you going to allow the Modifieds in as well? AMT has (re-?) released some of the Modified cars of the 50's,60's and 70's.

I would be up for this....have a dozen or so Nascar kits here, new and old. Hardest part would be deciding which one to build!!!!

Man - I have a couple of NASCAR kits stashed away too. I always routed for Big E - and now Little E! The end of this year's Daytona 500 was great!

And is one of the requirements to have an "Armorama" logo as a car sponsor somewhere on the car??

I am sure we can get the decals made if so.

Cheers,
Jim

Never liked either Earnhardt. I've been a Mark Martin/Jack Roush fan since they paired up. Roush Rules!!!!!!

Rousch sucks!!! J/K

No one can compare to Earnhardt, the guy was incredible. As I always say about Dale, Forever a fan, forever The Man.

I like Junior and Tony Stewart, Stewart reminds me a lot of Earnhardt and the guy can drive anything you put him in.

Sure any color, logo or scheme would be allowed.

Remember any year, any make, as long as it has something to do with Nascar.

LOL! True.

I remember that day all too well. I remember after that wreck they switched to the in car view of Tony's car and I saw his hand slip off the steering wheel when he went unconscious. I looked at my wife and said "tell me we just didn't see Tony die". 27 laps later, we saw the wreck that "didn't look that bad" that killed Earnhardt.

I knew it was bad when the chick from FOX tried speaking with Kenny Shrader and he was VERY shook up.

The one thing I hate most in racing is crashes. I have the unfortunate distinction of being one of the people standing inside turn 7 at Watkin's Glen in 1991(JD McDuffy). I never want to see a crash like that again. Plus being at the New Hampshire track for one of the turn 3 incidents (Adam Petty) a few years ago.

Oh, and Moezilla....Past two Champs drove for who? :-) :-) :-) :-)

Looks like we got us a race going on.....
Mother, a special award for the first to finish??? :-)

Well it's about time Rousch won a championship or two, he only has half the field driving for him. lol

Funny thing is I have no interest in building a NASCAR model even though I'm a fan, car models don't do much for me. I think it's from all the 1:24 cars I have in boxes, after those plastic isn't the same.

I do have however a Rolex 24 Hours car that Earnhardt drove in 2001 to build. Not sure when but it'll be someday. lol

I'm sure I could come up with something strange, outlandish, and interesting along the lines of some sort of a racing vehicle, with something appearing to be the Armorama Logo.
But can't say it would be NASCAR approved...... :-) :-)

Now that would be cool. Instead of a Nascar only campaign, a Racing only campaign. F1, WRC, NASCAR, CART, Indy, LeMans, Baja, Paris-Dakar, Motorcyles.
Just dreaming......

Did someone say DTM? I don't follow it closely, meaning I don't know all the drivers and I missed this season entirely on SpeedVision (REALLY bad at remembering what's on TV except for a few shows lol) but I love watching DTM. To me it's like a combination of the physical trading paint mentality of stock car racing mixed with the finesse of F-1. Great stuff!

That would be entirely up to Mother.
I've got kits that could be built for either. There is always next campaign, or the next, or the next, or the next.

That sounds interesting - to alternate car types. Perhaps this one could be Stock Cars, the next F-1's, maybe one for Rally types, etc...

I never thought I'd see Auto Campaigns on Armorama before now...

I am actually suprised too Gunnie. Looking forward to modeling some "battle damage." It will be interesting to try out some NASCAR "weathering." And a nice break. I don't know about anyone else but I can take all the armor models in the world to work or the local tavern and they only get a pained "Yeah, that's neat" from my friends. But, I spent an afternoon slamming a NASCAR model together about 5 years ago and I had ten people offer to buy it from me. We'll see how they like the one with the big ol tire swirls on the side...
