Now let me get this straight ... a ISU-152 IS considered a tank destroyer for the puroposes of this campaign? I sure hope so as I have considered no other vehicle since joining up. With as much debate as surrounds problems with Dragon's rendition of the lower hull I had planned on eschewing all the "fix-ups" and just scratchbuilding the lower hull to as correct dimensions as I can, plus throwing as many aftermarket goodies at it as possible. I currently build masters for VLS, and my list of upcoming projects seems to grow daily, but taking a few hours a week away to work in this campaign will be a welcome respite indeed.

Yes, you can enter the campaign with an ISU152. Your plan sounds promising, go for it!
