I'm just planning. Didn't begin yet. I think I'll make a diorama with a 232 ,a Zundapp motorcycle and some dragon figures.

Not to sound rude, but what is a light tank doing in a Scout CAR, campaign?

Andrew -
Basically in the gathering stages right now, as I've got my "Ardennes" diorama and "Tank Destroyer" going. Bless you for extending Campaign as this will allow me to do all. I've got the Tamiya SdKfz 234/2 Puma and just managed to get an Italeri SdKfz 234/1 off "Ebay". Plan is to work these two together in a diorama. Looking to get the Aber Detail sets for both and Royal Model wheels. Will add some Warrior's crew figures to fill out a "checking on enemy positions" theme. Looking forward to it,

but how does a tank fall into a scout car campaign? My understanding of the original intent of the campaign was for wheeled scout cars and recon cars.
I'm just calling it like I see it.

OK. I missunderstood. Actually, the rules don't specify wheeled. Also, light tanks were sometimes referred to as scout cars when used in that role, IIRC (I could be wrong about that, I'm old and remember many things that never happened).

Hey all!
I placed the antenna array and all aother parts on the SdKfz 232 and with that, the kit is finnished as far as 'glueing parts together' concerns. I left away the claxon, for I couldn't find any reference picture where it actualy was placed on the vehicle. Also left away some storage boxes, for as I compare the instructions with some ref. pictures there way too many sugested.
I left the hatch open to place a commander in the vehicle.
The Italeri kit was very good to build, I didn't find any fitting problems. The holes for the array stands are to be drilled, so this gives you the oppertunity to not place the array and convert the vehicle into a SdKfz 231.
I also like the 'steerable' front axle; it can give the vehicle a more dynamic look.
Up to spraying this baby!
Have a nice weekend!!

No progress yet... the turret PE is in the mail.. the rest (except for the Italeri kit) is still in the OHS. I just bought my first airbrush today... see if I can find some time to practice these next two weeks...
Paul, your vehicle looks very nice. I just wonder, is tha plastic really as blue as the pics make it out to be?

Harm, thanks!
No the plastic is not that blue as it looks on the picture.
It's more grey than blue, don't know why it turns blue on the picture.
Looking forwrd to your Sd.Kfz 234/1. What kind of airbrush did you buy?

Badger 100, both middle and fine head. It was a set so... I have an Academy Stug IV for practice (and a Hornisse and Sd. Kfz. 251).
I am waiting for my turret to arrive (should be somewhere between Poland and my place). And waiting for the book I ordered... I hope it has the image of the engine and engine bay in it.
First though I have to finish a few other models (Jagdpanther, Sd.Kfz. 223, the Musashi, a Hornisse...).

Thanks for the compiments Paul !!
It is indeed the Jagdpanther in the gallery. In between working on a paper I am doggedly [progressing... I am now making the Aber hinges...
Tomorrow I hope to redo the zimmerit finishing and finish adding the resin bits.

I decided after some thought and deliberation to a Universal Carrier Mk2, or Bren carrier. The Tamiya 'Forced recon' version. I have so far built the hull, just need to paint the interior details and the figures before I glue the rest together. The tracks are a pain, the rubber band type that hook together. They are truly awful, I advise anyone doing this kit to look for AM replacements.
I'll post some pics on here when there's something more interesting to see.

First parts arrived in the mail today, and are now awaiting assembly. Assembly will possibly start this weekend (I hope to finish two kits this weekend). Whne those are done I'll start my Sd. Kfz. All parts but the wheels have been ordered.
Right now are Panther late Friul tracks on my bench.

Originally it started as a scout car (wheeled vehicle) group build, but the leader expanded the scope to include tracked recon vehicles (I guess an M3 series Bradley would count as well now).OK. I missunderstood. Actually, the rules don't specify wheeled. Chuck
There were a few fully tracked light tanks called combat cars, but this was a bureaucratic way around an early US law that stated only the infantry branch could own tanks. The cavalry branch (no armor branch yet) owned the exact same vehicle armed with machine guns versus cannons and called them combat cars.
There are also some Fine Molds Japanese light tankettes that are called "armored cars" on the box top. That may be a translation thing there though.

yes, the leader expanded to tracked recon vehicles as well, but the scope of the campaign is still restricted to ww2-vehicles, so a bradley won't count.
