Well I usesed Testor's Model Master. It's not the paint as much as the painter. I had a little bleed over between the silver and the balck paint'. My tape apparently wasn't down on the surface as tight as it should have been.

I may be currently retired, but I couldn't resist doing a little paint job on the side. Two 120 mm series figures I can later use to make a diorama with my 1/16 M35 truck. Some scratchbuilding involved. Paint job will be chocolate chip uniform with woodland armor vest, like I saw in a picture. I planned to make MP's like that for a long time, so this is just the time to do that. Spent several hours on that last week already. I hope this is done before the end of the campaign. The scene would be the first Gulf War, or staging of the vehicles destined for that war on European soil, in the port of Antwerp.

Back in full force ! (well, just for a few days of modeling and then I'll return to bathroom tiling and plumbing detail)

ooh really???? i dont know if i would need to take advantage of an extension or not- i busted butt on my dio last night and have a few pieces to put on before i take (what i thought might be) final pics, but then i was told that i made a serious error in the placement of my guard tower within the prisoner area. i need to verify this when i go home at lunch today, and if all is well i should be able to post my entry then.

GI_Babycakes, please take your time.
I like a good model that's a bit late bether than a model that's slamped together just to get the deadline...
Looking forward to the pics!

The picture is no good, but it gives you an idea. My camera battery went dead after this first picture. I hope to offer better pics next week. The background is this campaign website for scale reference.
I'd like to give them a quick airbrush with matt varnish, but my ddrybrush is still somewhere packed and it'll be a while before I can unpack my modeling gear. Need to install a hobby room ffirst... The eyes don't look good, I think. I like the figures, though. They are a remodeled version of some of Verlinden's US army figures at 120 mm.
If there's one lesson from this experience : painting choc chip and woodland camo on a figure is a real pain in the , so it's great modeling fun ! I'm sure my next one will be a lot better. learned a lot from this.
The MP armbands and other changes were made with modeling putty and industrial car body repair kit.

Marc,
Yes, I can hear him shout over here too!
Great looking figure. Hope he's not waiting at the front gate for drunken soldiers to come in after leave....
Jan,
Looks good!
:-) :-) :-)
I think the uniforms turned out great as far as I can see. Can't say anything about the eyes, as far as I can see on the picture there is nothing wrong with them.

I tried to upload a better pic, but I get error messages. Something seems to be wrong, though I did everything right...
I'll try again soon...

Hey all!
The site is undergoing some changes the last days and I guess that's why the gallery does not work all the time. See also the 'Site Talk' forum about that.
I have had problems to enter the Armorama site myself the last week...
Officialy, the MP! Campaign is over since december 1.
And, we have seen some great entries allready!
Just take a look in theMP! gallery
These finnished participants will have their ribbon soon this month allready.
However, all participants who have NOT finnished yet still have this december month to complete their entries.
The reason is very simple; some of us (yes, I know, including me, but I did it also otherwise) were almost finnished but should have to rush their work to finnish it.
Since rushed modelling is not the best way to make the best out of a model, I have decided to have december as an extra time buffer.
The campaign was by all means ment to have fun, not to have modelling stress.
Ribbons are reserved for all and will be handed out after the entry is completed and some pictures are in the gallery before januari 1.
SO, HAVE FUN!!
Looking forward to the last incomming entries this month!!!!!
Paul

it's just a wee bit frustrating because i would like to post mine, but until i can, i'll tell you about it !
It's a guard tower that i made that has a ladder leading up and a spotlight, with a guard standing on the lookout platform holding a gun. down below is a barbed wire fence with poles made from "trees", a dirt prison yard and a prisoner below. it was something new making the structure from scratch, and the barbed wire, but i'm anxious to get on with other projects.

GI_Babycakes,
Great tower! I looked in your gallery for more pictures and it looks very great, Nice to read how creative you are with the use of parts for scratchbuilding: who needs AM parts anyway :-)
BTW; I saw your Walcheren entry also: I find it very great! Absolutely 100% Walcheren!!!!!

OK, here it is! The British MP VW Beetle!
The upper part of the kit is still removable (that's why you can see the upper and lower part 'don't fit' ; perhaps I make a MP driver for it so I need to have acces to thi interior.
This was Italeri's VW kit; I closed the roof with plastic sheet. The imperial is scratchbuild. Also the muffler is scratchbuild but I'm planning to replace it for something that does not look so 'organic'...
Bye!
Paul
