Hello everybody on this campaign.

I discussed with a moderator what to do since our campaign leader is dressed in silence.

We agreed it's OK if I jump in to end this campaign properly.

I'm gonna PM the other participants about their progress/results in this campaign, so they can still submit their entries. (This, because there is a change they PM-ed Spiderman with question about where to post etc. and when not having any answer, they perhaps don't know what to do...)

By this I extend the end of the campaign by friday (so entries can be submit untill June 10 th.2005, 23.59 hr. GMT+1 time )

I'll look further if we can a ribbon arrangent also.
Feel free to come with some ribbon sugestions.

Any questions left? Please PM me or leave a question in this forum.

Paul, thanks for stepping in to tie up all the loose ends. You realise though that you have broken a cardinal rule of the military?

NEVER VOLUNTEER!

Every time I do I end up in trouble...

Like the paint job and decals on the E100, the decals look very flat. Are they transfers or stencilled on?

Although it does make the Panzer II look puny, I was surprised the size difference didn't appear to be even greater

The decals are transfers, which are under a coat of future, about 4 washes and a couple of coats of dullcoat.
The size looks deceiving in the pic so heres one from above with a Jagdpanther in the middle.

Well done Paul for taking command and go give them hell :-)

Eerie,

Starts looking good! I like the green/yellow camo pattern.
Looking forward for the final results.

Hey Mike!

WOW! That's a nice Luchs!! Did you use some AM parts on it? I like the empty jerrycan holder on the turret and the chipped paint effect.
How was the ICM kit to build?

Thanks Paul,

no AM parts. The empty jerry can holder was put together using some scrap metal. The ICM kit was very simple to assemble. I was surprised that most parts fit quite well. I purchased the kit for $3.50 on Ebay!

That is a nice little Panzer! I have bought most of my stash from eBay; try to stick to my rule of not paying more than 50% of retail, don't always manage it though and occasionally get tempted by Hannants...

Online shopping is just TOO easy

I particularly like the tracks on your model, are they the ICM ones as well? If so I'm impressed. Also, what technique did you use for the chipped paint?

Cheers!

Graham,

thanks, the tracks are ICM. Chipped paint was done with Tamiya German Grey applied randomly with a sharpened toothpick.

Looks good. A couple of alternate techniques, which you've probably heard of anyway:

1. Very sharp graphite pencil, touch it round edges of hatches etc where you are likely to see heavy traffic (used this on my entry for the campaign)

2. Paint on a base coat of bare metal colour or primer, depending on your subject.. Allow to set hard (couple of days or so). Apply top coat of the final colour, allow to partly dry only - an hour or so (clearly depends on what paint you are using, you'll need to experiment a little).

Then the clever part - take some slightly tacky masking tape - I roll it on my trouser leg first to weaken the glue - dab this onto areas where you want chipped paint. It lifts away the top coat to reveal the primer/base metal coat beneath. Looks great!

Neither of these are my ideas I hasten to add. You can see the effects of technique #2 on a ship I'm building, just as soon as I get some updated photos done that is! (Doh)

Here's an example of technique #2 for chipped paiont that I talked about in my previous post:

Might not really suit for AFVs, but v. good for aircraft etc

Sure looks great Graham!
Thanks for charing this technique. I shall give it a try once for sure on a civilian vehicle (perhaps in the T2K campaign...)

Okay, I'll admit it... I sat on my rear and then had to jump thru more than one hoop to get these done before the deadline, which luckily was extended, plus a friendly reminder that the deadline was near, but they are finished. Luckilky I didn't have a whole lot to do to finish them up. Hope you all enjoy them Thanks. "Q"

OK, now it is finaly ended!!

The extension cleared a lot of things up and now 13 members succeeded this campaign together.
That's precise 50% of the enlisted participants!

Only Eerie is given a little more time, because he said he had his tank finnished but I see no picture of the finnished one yet. I PM-ed him to hurry up.

The other 11 will recieve their Iron Cross ribbon somewhere this day.

Our list of Iron Crossed heroes:

Trucker
SpiritsEyes
Ripster
Red4
Panzercmdr
Jacques
Frag
eMan
Eerie (when posting his final results)
Dragonwagon
Betheyn
043
007

I'll make a forumthread with a picture of every posted tank soon;
Stay tuned to this thread for info about that!
