Heres my Tiger II, its the Dragon 6232 kit, I used the plastic barrel as the supplied metal barrel isn“t correct.
Its my first try with the dreaded zimmerit - i uses Tamiya putty, a screwdriver and some liquid glue to get the effect.
Any imput ?

Hey, that first-time zim really looks good with the camo applied!
Even more impressive - THE NUMBERS!
I'm assuming they're stenciled but I have stenciled numbers on zim before without acheiving that effect!
Great job,
Eddie

Thanks !
The numbers is the ones supplyed with the kit, the "secret" is that i put them on as usual, but then i drybrush them with some Humbrol Liquid poly, a very thin plastic glue. It kinda dissolves them and "fuse" them with the kit.
Besides it takes care of the carrierfilm
I plan to put it in a urban dio, so I don“t want it to be muddy, but dusty instead.
Thanks again

Hi Jan ...Nice work on your first zimmerit job ..congrats! I throw on a wash or two to bring it out more and maybe a real heavy raw umber wash on the tow cables to make them look a little worn.. Great job all over..

I disagree with Hilbert, I think the tracks are perfect...even moreso for an urban environment.
I'll have to try that method of decal appliacation you mentioned...although, I have testors liquid cement...will that work in place of humbrol liquid poly?
Eddie

Hi MrMox,
Isn't the DML 6232 supposed to be the late production KT with 18 tooth drive sprocket...I'm just curious if they ever received zimmerit (it was supposed to be stopped on Sept. 1944)?
Anyway, you did a very nice job on the zimm and as the others say, it would look good in a dio...
Cheers

Hi Jan and Rick,
No contest ....I stand corrected about the zimmerit and 18 tooth sprocket and it was very informative
The more I look at your KT, the more it becomes obvious...its really a very good build especially the 4th pic where paint looks a little bit faded....you should build the dio....
Cheers
Arvin
