Hi everyone,
Just a quick post to show a little project I have been on with. It's the excellent Tamiya T-55 with a bit of plastic card.
I wanted something a bit different, so have attempted to recreat an Iraqi "Enigma" vehicle. I did not have access to any drawings, so dimensions are approximate from images on the web.
The details may not be 100% accurate, but it has been a fun project.
Any comments and suggestions are welcome.
Regards,
Joe Ford

Hi,
it looks good to me ! Have you any drawings of your own. This is the kind of project that could lead me to build a T-55.
I have some pics available on my site so you can check how accurate is your model. You could add the searchlight guard to make it look closer to the original model.

Hi everyone,
Thanks for the comments.
Olivier, thanks for the link to your site – really useful reference pages and great models! I’ll add the search light guard in a little while.
I do have some drawings that I made (engineering background and a sadistic fondness for a drawing board, pen and paper):
If you send me a private message with your contact e-mail, I’ll try to get them scanned and send them to you.
Regards,
Joe

Hi Joe
they look pretty good. You can touch me either through my site or my profile here. My e-mail is available there and this the one mainly dedicated to modeling topics.
TIA for scanning them.

Unfortunately of that thank I know only the name, so I cannot help at all with "techie" comments, but it looks to me a very nice and clean build so far!
Congrats

Hey Joe,
This T-55 looks great. Excellent work (accurate or not) for this Iraqi version and with all that scratch-work, you are in need of a pint from me.

I have just recently had an urge to build some modern armor. This really inspires me to pick up a T-55 from Tamiya. Very cool looking scratch build, especially with only photos to go by.

Hi Iain,
Apologies for the delay in replying. I've moved house and started a family since the last post a few years back, but should still have my original drawings. I'll have a look for them later and will send you a scan if you wish.
The model itself is still in a box awaiting a coat of paint. Maybe I'll get a chance to paint it after my next house move in April!!!!
Regards,
Joe

Thanks for the comments - I'm very tempted to actually get this one finished now! I've uploaded my drawings to my Flickr account, so they should be accessible if anyone wants a copy: http://www.flickr.com/photos/fordyj/sets/72157594436298207/
They're certainly not up to the standard of the pdf that Alexander posted (great link, thank you). Anyway, I hope they may be of use to some of you....

Joe
