I took your idea and ran with it. This is a fairly high Res Jpg. (256dpi) that could be scaled for varios vehicles. I have printed things like this on my inkjet on fairly smooth paper, Use a little artists fixative then soak it in Matte Medium very thinned (50/50) then adhere to a piece of roughened platic sheet to make a sign. Flat finish and it works pretty well.
I do have higher resolution vector art (Illustrator CS2) If you would like that file.
