Another new release from Verlinden this month in 1/35 scale, and it adds some life to a M109.
Verlinden Productions has announced a Gear-Ammo-Crew set for the M109A2. The set includes two figures, ammunition and some accessories to dress up a M109 build.

Now if we can just get an interior....and while I am at it, how about an M992?

A very commercial try, to my opinion. Though the box seems to contain quite some usefull stuff to create a field gun in operation ( it would fit other 155 mm guns as well ), the " amount" of crew members is poor. The more since it is very likely that artillery crews would work all together the moment all the items in the box would be placed at the back of the gun in such a logical way that a call for fire support can be answered in seconds. So, Mr. Verlinden would really have helped us if he had created some of the crew members more. And, yes, the moment all of the box containment is visible, most of the hatches of a M109 would be open, screaming for an interior. Apperantlty, it is impossible to satisfy a modeller. But I certainly will go for the box, since quite some stuff is " multi gun operable". The quality seems to be the well known and appreciated Verlinden standard. Thanks for the review.

Me wonders if arty crews would wear tankers coveralls? All pictures I know, their wear standard Woodland BDU. Something that also missing are the camo net poles and the camo net spreaders. These items are carried on every US M109 I saw. AM industry, do you read this????

Arty crew do wear CVC (Combat Vehicle Crewman) NOMEX uniforms, they are not just for tankers. I agree with the others that the set is just a rehash of earlier Verlinden pieces, nothing new here. A few new figures and an interior would be most welcomed.
