Bronco Models has sent Armorama some pictures of a test build of their ‘Valentine’ Mk XI (OP) and their Italian light civilian car (hard top) with lady, girl, and dog.
Bronco Models may not be quite matching some of their competitors, but when it does come to releases they are normally eagerly awaited. These test build images of their Infantry Tank Mk III ‘Valentine’ Mk XI (OP) and Italian light civilian car (hard top) with lady, girl, and dog mean I believe that these kits will be with us very soon. And I have heard a number of Allied tank fans who are keen to see the Infantry Tank Mk III ‘Valentine’ Mk XI (OP). Armorama would like to thank Bronco Models for sending us these images.

Very nice valentine.....looks like they made some major improvements over the original Bishop hull and suspension. My only reservation is that stepped gun barrel. Is it supposed to be a dummy gun? I haven't been able to find a single photo of a Mk XI with a gun like that. I think I'd replace it with a standard 75mm.

Hi Iowa...Long time no see! I too am wondering if this was supposed to be a dummy gun since this is an OP tank. Kinda hard to believe they could get a 75mm gun to fit such a small turret.. I know nothing about this version and I'm probably wrong, but I too want to know.. Rick

No, the step is real. The kit part might be a bit less gradual than it was on the real thing, see photos below: And the gun was definitely a Brit 75mm. These were essentially the 6pdr Mk V gun bored out to take an American 75mm round. To squeeze it (and the 6 pdrs) into the turret, the trunnions were pushed forward, the radio was pushed back and the crew reverted to two from the three men in the Mks III and V. You didn't so much "enter" the Valentine as "put it on". Paul

So even in an OP tank it would be a real gun? Cool!

I think we may be at cross purposes here. I'm not referring to the taper at the mantlet end, I mean the step halfway along the barrel.
