Desert modelers, Jungle modelers, Middle east conflict modelers, IDF, OIF, Vietnammodelers. the new Dutch Company DioramaWorld offers you Palm Tree Trunks in the scale 1:35 or 54 mm
In this news item 2 things will be brought to your attention. First is the anouncement of a new manufacturer on the market. Second is the anouncement of one of the products just released by this company.

April 2006 was the moment a new company from Holland stood up to take it's place on the market. DioramaWorld a company that makes resin diorama and vignette bases and accesories for the 1:35 and 54mm scale modelers. The goal of this company is to make good quality and affordable products in which every modeler... being beginner, intermediate or pro can make some really nice diorama or complement their figures and or vehicles. Also the company designs their products in such a way that it is possible to use it for different theatres of war and can be placed in a lot of diorama's with a lot of possibilities in vehicle choice and figure choice.
To be short this is a company of who we can expect some great things in the future.

To begin with a little part of that future I will start with their latest release on the market:
Palm tree "Trunks" article number 1010, 1011 and 1012
Till now it was not that easy to get Palm trees in Europe and even if you could get them they were fairly expensive and usually you only got one or two trees. DioramaWorld offers you a set of 4 palm tree trunks which you can add in your vietnam, Middle east conflict, Africa, jungle diorama's and with the amount of trunks you get it is even possible to make different diorama's/vignettes. The trunks are all different sizes and thicknesses and can be finished of with the palm tree leafs from Preiser... As most of you know the palm trees from Preiser are HO scale but the leafs are very adequate to be used in the 1:35 and 54mm scale.
DioramaWorld offers these Trunks in 3 different packages.

Art.# 1010 Palm tree "Trunks" this only the trunks so you can scratchbuilt the leafs or buy the Preiser set directly from DioramaWorld

Art.# 1011 Palm tree "Leaves" Basically this is the Preiser set containing 8 frames with small leaves, 4 frames with bigger leaves and 4 HO trunks with bases. The leaves can be used with the "Trunks" Art.# 1010

And last but not least:
Art.# 1012 Palm tree "Complete" This is a complete package containing both art.# 1010 and art.# 1011so you get all in one box to create your jungle-atmosphere

As said before these palm tree trunks can be usefull in a multitude of settings like: WW2 Africa campaign, Italy, Pacific war, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, IDF, OIF, 1:35 and 54mm, the list of possibilities is quite large and with this release DioramaWorld offers something to a very big market.

For more information about the products of DioramaWorld check out their website at www.dioramaworld.nl At the moment their site is still only available in Dutch as they are working hard to get the English site running but the presentation of their products and their products themselves do speak enough to get a good idea of what they offer. Also for the European and overseas buyers that are familiar with the Dutch Online shop Mol modelbouw... all the products of DioramaWorld can be found at the onlineshop of Mol modelbouw www.plasticmodelbouw.nl

Hi Robert, Great news indeed! There is another company that makes extraordinary palms of many kinds, but seem mainly those of the Caribbean: Hart Of The South They sell packs of fronds from 2-5 inches (50-250mm) in packs of 30 and 100. With the products of DioramaWorld, Pegasus Hobbies', Preiser and Verlinden (and the old Bandai kits, and some other model railroad and gaming companies) modelers in need of palms have cornucopia of models to choose from! Regards, Fred
