Trumpeter’s previous releases were on the T-10, and T-10M. Now it’s the T-10A’s turn, and Trumpeter shares photos of what’s in the box.
Designated as IS-10 (Iosif Stalin 10) when it entered production in 1952, it was renamed T-10 following Stalin’s death in 1953. Standing 8 feet high, 12 feet across, and 32 feet long, the T-10 was quite a sight to behold. The original production model was armed with the 122mm D-25TA main gun. Two 12.7mm DShK M machine guns as secondary armaments – one as co-axial mount and the other above the loader’s hatch. As an improvement to the original T-10, the T-10A variant came with a vertical plane that stabilized the main gun. Additionally there were new telescopic sights for commander and gunner, as well as night vision optics for the driver.
Trumpeter kit #05547 features refined details such as a multi-slide molded lower hull, individual links for tracks, copper cables, and photo-etched parts. More than 300 parts make up the kit spread over 25 sprues. When built the model’s dimensions are 269.3mm (L) by 100.6 mm (W).
