A new volume of Nuts & Bolts series is ready to ship next month. Devoted to the Sd.Kfz. 6 - 5 ton Zugkraftwagen, Büssing - NAG and its variants, the comprehensive text is complemented by 430 photos.
Unarmoured halftrack vehicles were typical for the Wehrmacht, as they expressed power, speed and cross-country ability, all necessary requirements for motorized units. As a consequence these halftrack vehicles became almost ubiquitous, and the Heereswaffenamt issued orders to develop vehicles in six different classifications, as early as the Reichswehr period.
Several of them have been previously covered on Nuts & Bolts series, and the figures for this 39th volume are equally impressive:
224 pages A4, with approximately 430 Fotos, of these 272 contemporary photos from manuals. Combat and war fronts in b/w, most of them previously unpublished; 120 colour photos of restored vehicles and their components in public and private collections, 38 colour photos of the four models from T.Greenland & V.Branigan, English / German captions. 31 pages English / German text with 10 tables, 28 pages of scale drawings of all versions and details in 1:35 scale from John Rue & Lieven deConinck, 14 camouflage schemes from Laurent Lecocq, tactical signs and three tables of organization of units (Kriegstärke-Nachweisungen KStN) having these vehicles in their arsenal.
Seems we have a must for the fans of German Halftracks.
