It's cool that they're coming out with the M4. My question is with the MLRS... Do we know if it's going to be all new tooling or is it a re-pop of the ancient DML kit?

Pete, in comparing your photos of this ambulance variant, which I never saw before, there are only a few differences. The left rear is a little different with the panels, and the rear is different a bit. Was this ambulance variant ever used?

It's the C2V-based candidate for the Armored Medical Treatment Vehicle (AMTV) program. Three prototypes were built in the 90's : "The AMTV had a central position for treating a litter patient inside the vehicle while on the move with room for medical treatment providers to work on either side of the litter. The AMTV could carry four litter patients in addition to the medical crew when the vehicle displaced to maintain contact with the supported unit. The M4 C2V development program was canceled in 1999 when the Army shifted to a lighter Stryker-based platform resulting in the development of the M1133 Stryker Medical Evacuation Vehicle for fielding in Stryker equipped units." "In total 25 M4 Command and Control Vehicles were built before the programme was terminated and the company agreed to store them at their York facility and try to sell them overseas with US Government approval. Late in 2002, the US Army asked if these vehicles could be re-fielded. In the end the company and army planners mutually agreed to set aside 10 vehicles for spare parts while re-issuing the 15 remaining vehicles for possible combat service.
