Here we catch up with another new release from Bronco the Chinese PLA Type 99/99G MBT in 1/35 scale.
I seperated this Bronco release from the Kfz 14 as I think (Though I have been known to be wrong) that it appeals to a seperate audience.

The Kit CB35023 1/35 Chinese PLA Type 99/99G MBT comes with a AB3530 workable steel track set.

Bronco have also released AB3533 1/35 Chinese Type 99 MBT Rubber Type Workable Track Link Set

Thanks to Bronco Models for the updates

Um, I'm a little curious at this info. Having been interested in this tank for years I've got some Chinese nationals as friends who've sent me open source information and they've translated out the ZTZ 99G and actually cites it in official publications (keeping in mind I don't read Chinese for squat and have to rely on their translations) as being currently in service. I also have the Trumpeter Type 98 kit (the only version they've produced) from several years back and it is not only a piece of garbage, it bears little resemblance to the CG of the Bronco kit. Matt

Sorry for my ambiguity above. As Hobby Boss belongs to Trumpeter, and it is a young brand in China, so we ususal use Trumpeter present them two. For Trumpeter, they produce a model-T98 ten years ago, to be honest, it got too many wrong and seems a toy only. For Hobby Boss, has got three type, 99, 99A & 99B. The Bronco' CG was copied from them. there are lots of compare picture and article in Chinese model website. For Bronco, they got two model of 99 series, 99/99A got two in one case, and 99B model. they've done more details work on their 99G model. Look great than HB's, even Bronco made a mistake in the chasis size. I have to say that is only Bronco's williing to name their model as ZTZ99G. Actually, their model is a minish 99/A/B(99 in 96' size). For the Chiness MBT, the formal name is ZTZ99(usually be called T99). ZTZ98 is the pretest name of later ZTZ99, first came out in China 1999 national day's parade. It's the former version of T99 sierials. T99A is also a test version which is T99 with outer armor. The China land force's formal equiptments are ZTZ99B and another smaller ZTZ96B, which came out in 2009 national days parade. ZTZ99G is subsequent version, still under developing. There is no publication or any hearsay refering CDEF.

Makes sense. Do you have a link to that thread on the Chinese site. I'd be very interested in going through it. Thanks, Matt

Yeah, for some reason, I went for the Hobbyboss ZTZ-99B instead of Bronco Models' ZTZ-99A1: Oh, yes I ordered these as well, I like the look of the ZTZ-99 with fuel drums, and the kit doesn't include them: I'm glad I made the correct choice, but I'd like to know those differences between the ZTZ-99 kits, could you post a link to that forum? I want to see that comparison. Best regards. José.

I don't think we've seen the final Bronco kit, have we? I've seen the CG stuff and 3 pics that are supposed to be a test shot but look like the Hobby Boss kit. So, who knows at this point? Matt

Model compare: Bronco-yellow vs HB grey: LINK LINK try this(same content by different site-name and server): LINK LINK Differients of 3 HB's 99kits: LINK 99A: LINK 99B: LINK Real Pic: 99 vs 96: LINK 99A2: LINK PS: I think letter G instand for Gai- Gai is the pronouciation of a chinese font which means modification & developing. In this way The 99G = all developed 99 serials.

Thank you for the links. Do you know if the comparison photos are anywhere besides sonicmodel? I've been trying to register there without success for some time and you can't view threads unless you're logged in. Matt
