About Rich (Bud1)
FROM: WEXFORD, IRELAND

Hi, I became interested in 1/35 armour in 2003 after many years off from making models. I remember building an Airfix Ford Mk1 Cortina(?) with my Dad when I was very young - we made a mess and had a great time! I loved building Airfix tanks and aircraft as a kid, as well as the occasional battleship...

After working through a couple of these Model T kits by RPM myself, i can really appreciate the end result here! This little truck was definitely an accomplishment! These models are certainly a challenge in more ways than one! They are relatively inexpensive: if memory serves the Ford T Lorry, which I think this one is based on, and the M.M.G.S. Scout car are about $12.00. There's a Ford TC Armored Car as well that uses the same chassis, suspension, and tires/wheels that's about $9.00. I recently -as in September 09- got them all from Squadron http://www.squadron.com/SearchResults.asp?offset=0 I liked them simply because they were indeed something different and I needed something "light" to take a break from re-engineering my Hotchkiss O.V. while continuing to build. My biggest gripe with the kits was broken parts even though the boxes were in perfect condition. Fortunately most all are easily scratch build replaceable. The MG barrel/water jacket on the M.M.G.S. Scout Car version had gaping holes in one side and was bent a little. I had a few other nit-picks, but seeing what Rich finished up with makes it worthwhile. What is odd with these kits is they really don't seem to shape up into anything worthwhile until near complete. Again, hats off to Rich!
