About Grumpyoldman
I'm rewriting this in a much more humoristic way, to help over inflate my ego, and place my self on a pedestal, because I don't have a life, and plastic models are the only thing I live for. I plead guilty as charged to excessive babble, light hearted humor, and continued encouragement to youngsters, and returnees to find the fun, excitement, enjoyment, and relaxation that I have found this last half century. My interest run the entire spectrum of modeling interest. I'm an expert in nothing, but do have a lot of experience building models from old carve yourselves to plank on frame, and working through each problem as they came up. I personally threw away 3 cases of awards, my micrometer, digital rivet counter, and computer-color- spectrograph years ago, and I'm not about to go looking for them. If anyone finds them, I hope they use them in good health. Over the years I've learned that no matter how much research you do, someone is going to find a missing rivet, or have a different color perception than you have, and that crazy glue stops excessive bleeding until the emergency services arrive, and there is no need to argue over any of them. I was a fine art major, but found out I enjoyed living in a home, and eating real food, and wearing real clothes, more than the starving artist syndrome, and returned to doing my trade that I started before my "OLD" Navy days, when I earned the mighty sum of .60 cents an hour shoveling coal into a boiler. I don't shovel anything now, and make a heck of a lot more than .60 per hour. My main building interest are soft-skins, figures and aircraft, although I actually jump from area to area. My favorite forum is the JUNK DRAW, because we laugh and joke a lot, and develop good friendships. Life is too short to not take time to laugh, joke, and develop good friendships. I'm a firm believer in edification, not degradation, lead and guide, not push and shove. Feel free to say HI when you see me on line via instant messenger, and yep, you can even call me "Fluffy-Grumpy"....
