Final Touches |
A large framed painting of Hitler dangles precariously
from the interior front wall, blown from three of the four bolts that
normally would be used to hang such a large and heavy picture. The actual
image was found on the web, and printed to HP Photo paper using a standard
Inkjet printer, then coated with sealant made for just this purpose. Holes
were made in the “canvas” to insinuate the flying debris that would have
pounded the picture during the shelling.
Outside the building, other items were added to the debris pile, such as a
wooden door blown from it’s hinges, and old tire, chunks of the cobblestone
sidewalk, a bent fire escape ladder, a rusted barrel drum, and other odds
and ends often found in an urban battlefield. Bullet holes were added to the
marble wall facing.
This project took approximately 40 hours to complete. |
