Gemini 7 Recovery!

This diorama was done for Chris Bent who was the OIC (officer in-charge) of the recovery team for Gemini 7. The posing of the figures was to try to replicate a photo taken December 18, 1965. Chris sent me tons of b/w and color photos to work from plus lots of "you had to be there" information such as the fact that all the divers had signal flares duct taped to their knife scabbards, Sutherland, the diver in the water, had red hair and wore a non standard blue face mask, and that sort of stuff.

It may not be "technically a military diorama", but this was a pleasure to see. The whole concept and finishing is excellent. The water ...... oh the water....... this will be talked about for some time to come. It is simply amazing! The guys from the dio campaign will be taking note! Thanks Jim for bringing this to our attention. Good man Bob...... as good as they get!

This is the best dio-idea I ever seen! Bob, I like the way you did the water, it is amazing! Other water-dios I have seen haven't got transparent water, so I like the your idea with this sort of water water.
