Des, All the above upgrades are part of the latest M270A1 modifications that have been added. They are not necesarrily UK MLRS identifiers. A couple points though. The boxes on the sides of the cab near the antenni are not for radio components. They house extra HALON fire extinguishers. The radiator on the roof is actually for the crew A/C unit to provide some relief from the heat in the closed cab. Good looking model. Keep up the good work.

Keep up the good work.[/quote] Gino, I can't speak for US M270's/A1's but on the UK version we used to have to check the coolant for the APU behind the cab in the mesh box. The boxes close to the antennas (on UK MLRS) house the ARFAT and TUAAM for the radios. I remember vividly the 20 or so tiny but long screws to hold the covers on. Part way through my career in '92 I was an operator in the middle seat, Veh. Reg. No; 48KJ60. From '93, '94 I was a driver operator, veh. Reg. No's; 48KJ60, 48KJ65 and 48KJ92 and from '95 to 2004 I commanded various MLRS, Veh. Reg. No's 48KJ92, 48KJ65 and 48KJ60 in 132 Bty 39 Regiment R.A. I'm still looking for my photos too so I will try to get some posted. Like I said, I can't speak with any reference to US MLRS because I never got close to one. The UK Government, especially the Ministry of Defence is renowned for "penny pinching". We didn't have A/C on UK MLRS, just a diesel burning heater that was prone to failing. The exhaust of which was on the upper driver's side of the cab towards the rear. Des

You guys across the pond do things a little different at times. Funny how the US versions have different pieces/parts in the same places. I guess the engineers figured they were multi-purpose boxes.

The Ministry of Defence did fit A/C to the UK MLRS Gino. Just a pity everyone else called them doors!!!! Get too cold, put the heater on. Get too hot, open the door Des

Hi all, I drive the UK HET for a living, very good model if anyone is building one of these and needs photo's of any particular area I will do my best, Iam hoping to start building one of these based on one of my tour's of Iraq this summer,

Great models and excellent build. So good that I bought a HET from Accurate Armour. Can anyone tell me where to buy the tie down chains w/ hooks. Are they through AA? Thanks for sharing..... Jeff
