Dave - Nice recap with the photos.
Let me say this, besides the staff, it is modelers like you that make the show a topline annual event. I always look forward to seeing there. It is like family (only better).
For Matt, Bill, Thom, Doc, Neil, Georg, myself and all the staff Thank you for this show article.
Rounds Complete!!

Dave,
Thanks for taking the time to take and share the photos with the rest of us. It was almost like being at the show!
Also, thanks for "doing your part" with the AMPS judging!
It can't be stressed enough that the judges are the critical component on contest day. You're setting a great example, and the pics of the judging area are valuable for the "view behind the curtain" that hopefully removes some of the mystery and makes the idea of lending a hand to judge more inviting to all the attendees.
I highly encourage any and everyone attending an AMPS show to volunteer for at least one judging shift. It's easy. Usually all you have to do is write your name down on the schedule board and show up on time or ask during registration. The show staff will bend over backwards to get you in the "pits." And if you have no prior experience, you'll be partnered with others who will assist and mentor you.
That couple of hours giving back to the society is priceless and helps your contest (and as an attendee, the event is also yours to make or break) more than most modelers can imagine!
Thanks again, Dave!
(Also thanks to Armorama for putting the show photos and report into the Features section!)

Depressing-
ly good.
Makes me never want to enter a contest again. Really exceptional LVT with gray paint scheme. Lots of fine stuff, not too overdone with chipping, rust or dirt.

Dave,
Thanks for all the work you put into submitting this report. The two day format makes for a relaxed, fun atmosphere for everyone. There is plenty of time to converse with friends, attend seminars, shop the vendors, look at models, and eat at over 40 outstanding restaurants. Not to mention a visit to the museum and access to the inside of all their tanks.
This year, despite the Dodd Depression, the show was outstanding. Our 80 table vendor room was sold out, with 6 new vendors joining all the regulars. We had 96 Entrants display 214 models, and 361 walk in attendees, for a total attendance of 457 people. Every one was very happy with the show and all it had to offer. Many raided the vendor room time and time again, and are already making plans to attend next year. A lot of people tell me that ours is their favorite show of the year; we always strive to make each show better than the last and make every attendee feel like an old friend. It's just a damn good time all around.
