US Halftrack Campaign
The US Halftrack Campaign was held from June 2012 to February 2013. The idea was to build any US Halftrack or its ancestor, the M2/M3 Scout Car in any service. Plastic Kits of the US M2 and M3 halftracks and their derivatives are available in 1/16 (Trumpeter), 1/35 (DML and Tamiya) as well as 1/72 and 1/76 scale (Academy and Airfix). The M3A1 Scout Car is available in 1/35 in the form of the ancient Peerless Max reboxed by Italeri, Zvedzda and Revell of Germay and the newer releases by Hobby Boss. In 1/72 there is a release by Italieri. Some 53 members took up the challenge and signed up at one point or another. Fourteen of those came through and finished a model in time to be awarded a ribbon. Thirteen of those finished a 1/35 scale kit, one a 1/72 scale kit. Twelve built a Halftrack, one an M3A1 Scout Car and one scratched an M2A1 Scout Car. The following participants received a ribbon:- andyman 1/35 Tamiya M3A1 Halftrack
