Delbert Davis shares with us a walk around of a Pair of Type 82 Volkswagen Kübelwagen's. These photos are of a pair of Type 82 Volkswagen Kübelwagen's. The photos were taken at the 2013 WWII Weekend and Air show in Reading PA. The owner of the Dark Yellow Kübelwagen said his was built in 1944 and was a bring back from overseas. He also said it was all original and has not undergone a restoration. I did not get a chance to speak to the owner of the Dark Grey Kübelwagen.

Thanks for these Delbert. Excellent photos of a popular subject. I was excited to see the dunkelgelb one is a Hohenstaufen staff vehicle. A real time warp vehicle. Or is it? The owner says it hasn't been restored, but can I see traces of panzer grey paint underneath? Or is this primer?

Hi H. I've found when talking to owners of WWII vintage vehicles that when they say it hasn't been restored, they tend to mean that the vehicle hasn't been torn down to the frame and rebuilt from the ground up replacing old and worn sheet metal and parts with new and fabricated parts. So I can't say if the paint is the original or not. My thoughts is it has prob been repainted sometime in the last 60 years or so, or at least touched up. It was not something that I thought of when I was talking to the owner. It still makes for a very interesting vehicle. Delbert
