Step 12
Next I worked on the tracks. I started by painting the tracks with a mixture of XF-1 and XF-52. Once dry I applied pigments mixed with some water to give some texture to the “dirt” I was going to apply. Once this was dry I applied some MIG pigment fixer to hold the pigments in place, then applied the same oil and enamel paint mixtures I used in the previous step and allowed them to dry. When the oil / enamel paint was dry I used a clean damp brush and removed the dust / dirt colour from the high spots on the track. I then applied graphite shaved from an HB2 pencil using an old brush, and dry brushed a bright silver colour to the highest points.
Step 13
The final steps were to install the tracks and running gear. I touched up a few spots with another dark pin wash then sealed everything with a coat of Testors Lacquer Dullcote. Some grease and oils spots were applied using Winsor & Newton Raw Umber oil paint and AK Interactive fuel stains enamel paint to the engine area. I also created grease and oil stains in the suspension area, and on some of the road wheels and drive sprockets. The final step was to add some fresh exposed metal effects to some high wear / high use areas using an HB2 pencil.
Conclusion
Overall I am pleased with the result and finish of this model. I normally spend a great deal of time focusing on detailing a model during the build, so it was nice to have a quick simple build and focus on the finish.Comments

Very nice, thanks for sharing Bart. Never thought the acrilyc+lacquer thinner combo would work well -- will have a try on that mix. Cheers, Tat
