Weathering
Because the kit was not painted with clear gloss finish, I just applied pin washes using burnt umber thinned with mineral spirits to the crevices, corners and recessed areas of the hull, turret and road wheels. After those pin washes dried, the kit received another wash, but this time I used pastel chalks (white + beige) thinned with isopropyl alcohol. Once the pastel wash dried, some of the excess chalks were brushed off using a paintbrush with soft bristles. I repeated the process until the desired effect was achieved. The engine grills as well as the muzzle break were brushed with diluted black pastel chalk.

The side skirts were washed with pastel chalks with darker colors (earth color mixture) mixed with alcohol diluted Tamiya Buff. Once dry, some of the excess chalks were brushed off using a paintbrush with soft bristles. The side skirts received several coats of the wash in order to achieve a dusty and darker appearance as compared to the hull

The road wheels were washed with a mixture of Tamiya flat earth, dark yellow, Tamiya buff thinned with isopropyl alcohol. Once dry, a lighter wash mixture of pastel chalk (earth colors) and Tamiya flat earth was applied to the road wheels. Once dry, some of the excess chalks were brushed off using a paintbrush with soft bristles. The process of washing and brushing was repeated until the desired effect was achieved.

Rust spots were painted using oil and pastel chalks. The initial layer of rust was applied using a mixture of burnt sienna and burnt umber. The second layer of rust was applied using orange pastel chalk diluted with alcohol.

The tracks were given two sets of washes. The first wash was an acrylic wash mixture of black mixed with red brown (XF1+XF64) to give it a darker rusty finish. The second wash was a pastel mixture of orange, black and burnt umber diluted with alcohol. After I completed the weathering process, the tracks were dry brushed with Tamiya metallic gray to show wear and tear.

Once I completed the weathering process, I lightly coated the whole kit with Krylon Matt finish to seal.
