This is my latest dio, the simple base is completely selfmade. The
idea for this dramatic scene came from the Warriors (?) figure set
where a medic is pulling a crew member out of an KV-2 turret. As I had
a BT-7 in stock I used the MR Modellbau conversion set for changing it
into a BT-7A close support artillery vehicle. As I wanted to depict a
vehicle who got immobilized during driving downhill I needed to fix
the complete suspension arms with the terrain features. The normal
tracks didnīt fit anymore after this treatment so I needed to use
single link tracks. I decided to use MINIARMīs single link resin
tracks; they are much nicer than the original kit ones but very
fragile! Actually after several broken links I glued every link with
KRISTAL KLEAR which worked perfectly and is invisible after it dries. The
infantry are from two different TANK figure sets and are of superb
quality. The dead crew member hanging partially out of the drivers
hatch is an old resin figure from a Russian company whose name I have
already forgotten; I changed the arm and body a bit to fit properly
for this scene. I hope you like this rather dramatic scene as much as
I do; I have tried to show the ugly side of war as there is
nothing glorious about it.

Very nice, Thomas. Terrific detail, painting and the figures are very well done. The medic pulling the tanker from the turret is outstanding - great touch.

Very nice overall! I really like that you've formed the tracks over uneven terrain ... nice touch!

Very nice! The hand of the dead guy in the front looks a little unnatural as the hand naturally curves when relaxed but the rest of the scene is outstanding. I like the downhill terrain and forming the suspension and tracks to fit.
Great work!

Very nicely done, great touch w/ the trooper on top of the turret. Looks like he's really straining to pull up the tanker.

Excellent work, you captured everything that a diorama should have in it. This diorama crosses over into the work of art category. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Thank you all very much for the positive comments and constructive critics. It gives me fresh Impetus for doing more.
@ Patrick: As I look to the drivers Hand I concur with you now. It was the best looking one which I had at home when I did finished him. I will buy a more appropriate one and fix it.
@ David: As Dave guessed right: It was my idea and is indeed an allusion to the film "saving privat Ryan" the russian way.
Cheers
Thomas
