Hallo folks,
thank you all for your appreciating words.
Prior I did the same mistake and judged about "Girls und Panzer" by its title and concept only.
But when I have watched the series I was being convinced from the start. It's a terrific anime.
One of the assets of "GuP" is its refering to the real City of Oarai in Japan. (You will spot there the StuG III of Ian's nice model, either.)

"ooo...kay... "
I suppose Saunder's captain would roll on floor laughing (again).
For those one who's familar with the German language here's a recently uploaded build report of this T-34.
Thank you again.

Girls und Panzer kits are the biggest sellers in Japan after Gundam.
The recent movie was the fourth largest grossing movie in Japan in its release.
Japanese model companies including Tamiya focus on the home market with the rest of the world as an afterthought.
A much sought after item (A41 Centurion) will finally appear in plastic because of Girls und Panzer. The Fine Mold Type 89 was finally released in one box and in another variant thanks to Girls und Panzer.

Exactly Stephen.
"Girls und Panzer" is most underestimated beyond Japan.
To give an idea what's ascending there look at this video of a "Girls und Panzer" concert in 2015.
