I'm sorry if this has been asked before. I did a search but didn't find anything.

I have 2 questions:

1) Where can I buy future? I live in Canada, so is it called future? and is it sold in hardware stores?

2) In what order do I do the future coat, wash, and decals? Is it future first then wash then decals?

thanks in advance for any help

I don't know what Future is called in the Great White North but you should be able to find in the cleaning section of your supermarket or department store.
You should appply it before decals, before or after wash is up to you.

I thought I need the future to protect my model from the wash?

I don't know what it's called up north either, but some here have talked about a product called Klear that is an equivalent.

I use Future (or any clear coat) then decide whether I want to weather the decals or not, to determine my order of action. Some weather a model before they clear coat it for decals. Some want the decals to be weathered looking, and so apply it then.

Personally, I use clear coat before I use any washes, but that's just the way I do things.

I'm pretty sure that the other name of Future is "Kleer" (or "Klir" at least here in France)

Just my two shiny cents

I just did a wash on an M-41 last night. I painted it with MM enamel on Saturday. I don't brush a wash on, but rather apply a small amount in panel lines and around/on raised detail. Capillary action draws the very viscous fluid along the edges. A gloss coat of a different type of paint may increase the flow and will certainly protect the finish if you use a rough brushing motion or do repeated applications, but it isn't absolutely necessary.

Bob,

This is the way I do it:

Basecoat (acryl) - future - decals - future - wash (oil + zippo fuel) - dull coat - wheatering

Here you can find another thread on future
