Gday Jeff
Looks beaut mate
What scale is it? Not familiar with German thingys... Speaking of which, are they periscopes poking out of the hatch? If so would a drop of clear glue work as a lens, or is it too small to notice...
Also the return roller in the 5th pic (I think) looks a little skewiff maybe.
What can you tell us Allied builders about the paint scheme, and where did this one serve?
Cheers

One of the best Stug's I've seen. I didn't know metal tracks were available!

Very clean and a great camo too!

Hi Jeff. I love this ... great camo and the weathering is top notch. The only thing that lets it down a little IMO, is that some of the small details are lost in the camo. A few pin washes, and an occasional scratch/chip would have lifted them up a bit more. Apart from this minor nit-pick, excellent. Highlights for me is the dirt on the lower chassis and the natural wood colour of the pioneer tools.

Very nice looking Stug Jeff, the mud on the chassis and wheels is very well done, however I do agree with Frank, it needs a pinwash and some scratches to make it even better.

Thanks for the comments Good call on the periscopes, I'll have to add a drop of clear into the commanders twin scopes. The drivers scope actually has a shade tube in front of the lens, so that lens would not be visible - but the commander's would.

The scale is 1/35th, and I took some liberties with the paintjob

The markings are for Commander Johannes Kochanowski's StuG III F, serving in the 4th Panzer Army, 48th Panzerkorps, 2nd Batterie, 201 StuG Abteilung, Eastern Front, October 1942. Eventually, Owm. Kochanowski racked up at least 55 kills in his StuG.

As I mentioned earlier - I took some liberties with the paintjob. The historical evidence leans towards an all yellow vehicle, but I thought that looked too boring. I decided to go with the three tone camo to spice it up a bit - even though it might not be historically accurate... hehehe

Thanks again for the comments!
Regards-
Jeff

Very nice StuG Jeff, I whole agree with all the previous comments.

I just wondered, the Ostketten (which I'm working on, slowly, myself.. ) would go nice with a winter camo?

Cheers

Hi Henk -

Heck yea, the Ostketten would go really great with a nice winter whitewash. In fact, that is what I originally was going to do with this one - but seeing as I have only done one adequate winter whitewash paintjob in my life, I chickened out and went with the three tone paintjob...

You could do yours up in a winter paint scheme and show me how it's done... hehe

Take care-
Jeff

Hey Brent -

The tracks are Fruil # ALT-19... They really are pretty cool tracks

Good luck with your StuG - the kit is pretty nice for being so old. I think it is kit number 6033.

Take care-
Jeff
