hello Rico !
I think that the BMP 3 might be a bit too modern... but I'm not sure !

If we are allowing this to end at the end of Desert Storm, then you are all set to do a BMP-3 as it was first seen in public in Moscow in 1990.

This is just a question so don't be upset with me for asking, but why allow someone to build a Leo 2A5 if it isn't a Cold War vehicle? First it seems silly that this person insists on building that vehicle for a Cold War campaign. My opinion is fine go ahead and build the Leo 2A5, but it doesn't count for the campaign as it doesn't fit the parameters. Come on, you have over 40 years of AFVs to choose from and even more than that if you consider that many countries were using T-34s, Shermans, Hetzers, and Panthers (French post WWII) for years during the Cold War.

well, this originally started out as a "modern" build OOB, but has since evolved into a Cold war, detail as you wish, build. The 2A5 was chosen before the limiting factors were in place, and it is not a competition but a group build, so it is not totally out of line. i am a little dissapointed in no post 1991 vehicles, but there is always the next contest.

Well, I'm thinking ahead too and wouldn't a 'modern desert campaign' be cool! Lots that could be done for that!

But, it's Cold War right now and its about to start so let's get psyched for that!

I have created a campaign page for this one. I don't recall ever getting a request for it but as it's obviously well underway it's okay with me.

Who is the leader of this campaign?

Thanks a lot Jim! I've already set up my entry in the campaign folder... I think the campaign Leader should be Sniper (if I remember well).
Ciao and thanks very much again

Yeah, sure. Whatever. Blame me.

If you go back and look I said that I PM'd Jim several times. Maybe he was busy or there was a computer problem. I really didn't think its a big deal as the build has started and people are already showing there progress.

And, I asked that if anyone wanted to come up with a campaign ribbon, graphic, etc to feel free.

Sniper, I think that now that we have got a proper campaign set up we shoud use it. Not many of us have already posted pics and so I think it won't be a big issue to switch over...
For what concerns the campaign medal Faust is currently working on it and I think he will show us shortly what's going on on his side. For sure any other input/artwork will be most welcome...
I think that the campaign was set up by Jim after accidentally reading yesterday a post from me in the Cold War Cookoff Started. Sorry if my post caused problems, I didn't want to overcome you in any way.
Ciao

Well, since Jim was kind enough to place our Campaign Page up for all to use - I hope everyone is enjoying using it!

Progress Update #2 - Camouflage Coat:

I'm modeling a 1961-vintage M41A3 Walker BullDog - a participant in the WILLOW FREEZE maneuvers up in Alaska. I thought the finish would compliment the fine Skybow kit. A business trip this past week slowed me down a little bit - hope to catch up to my scheduled plans by the end of the weekend...

Lookin' good Gunnie. I Like the look of the Bulldog too. I think I may have to put that kit on my wish list!

I should get paid for endorsing them! #:-)

I just love the Walker BullDog - can't get enough of them or the M24 Chaffee. Guess I'm a light tank sorta modeler...

Very nice Fabio - I like the looks of the Centauro. I'll be following your Campaign entry to use as a reference for modeling my own in the future

I finally managed to complete the turret. Here's just a taste of it

Now I have to start putting hands on the hull, that's really a "resin bubble" nightmare...
