Yes, they retooled the VVSS suspension parts after errors were pointed out on the various Braille scale sites. They also did some retooling to the M4A3 105mm turret because of errors to the rotor noticed in the 75mm turret.[/quote]

I didn't know that, I guess that explains why some kits, like the M4A3-76 were unavailable for a while. You have to admire a company that would do that even with recently issued kits.

One of their kits, the M4A1 75mm was missing a second turret periscope (part A7). It also had the VVSS suspension that was not tooled properly.

They retooled to add the periscope and move the suspension components to the proper position. My M4A4 has the corrected parts, but there is no way to tell from the outside of the box if you have the corrected parts or added periscope.

If you buy an M4A1 that's been on the shelf for a while, it could still have the missing part and incorrect suspension.

This might be a bit off topic, but it does have to do with a 1/87th scale kit so I would consider it Braille scale. My latest project was been the 1/87th Firefly from Heiser's models. The kit is beautifully molded especially if you consider the scale, and it even has individual pioneer tools and other bits. After working with 35th scale stuff, I was surprised at how easy it was to work with. Now to try and glue on the individual head and tail lights.

I'm a scale freak for military or aviation kits. All mine are 1/72 scale. Armor, helicopters, aircraft, anything military. The recent surge in kits is making me VERY happy.

I like a consistent scale for comparison and display. Like my own minature museum. I also like 1/72 because the detail is decent, but not tempting enough to spend the rest of my life putting rivets on a single kit. Finally, 1/72 takes up a lot less space.

The recent 1/35 helicopter kits are really tempting, but I can't imagine displaying one or two in the same space I can fit half a dozen.

Fine. Just bleedin' fine. You guys have talked me into it; I've gone and bought the Revell's PzKpfw VI Ausf.E Tiger I.

And looking at the parts (still in the bag; not opening until I start. Me no dummy! .... much....) it'll be about like everybody said. A little smaller, but not bad. Thank God for tweezers!

For me, one advantage of 1/72 is cost. I can get 3-6 kits in 1/72 for the cost of 1 in 1/35. This year RoG and Dragon have emptied my wallet and Dragon will be empting my wallet again in late summer. Also CMSC has emptied my wallet for figures as well.

you should have went for one of Revell's PzKpfw IV H/J or one of their equally excellent PzKpfw III L/M kits .... i have to say that the four kits i have mentioned will not be bettered, the track links are amazing but the daddy of them all is Revell's Famo the best 1/72 (braille scale) kit ever made in my opinion
